Also confirmed that most people I was with are safe. Others I haven't heard from but cell service is overloaded and no one can get through at the moment. Prayers are out there...

Crush, I'm just glad to hear you still have 10 toes and fingers because the news I'm hearing is that many of those that were near the explosions and survived are messed up pretty bad.

Scott, it is a bit eerie to see the news and know I was standing right by there for most of the day. Counting some blessings and hoping the best for all involved although signs are pointing to some pretty awful injuries.

The marathon, now the Boston Library...... :o  >:( >:(  It was just a matter of time before the crazies struck. Everyone just gets too complacent over time. I think it's possibly a home grown Islamic terrorist or a local Boston nut.   :(

This crap needs to stop. No more fcking around. Take out 1 American and expect to lose thousands of your own should be the way to go. Level a couple of these terrorist's home towns and they may think twice before seeing the US as a target. That's what I think. Kill them all.  Have a nice day.

Thats the kind of thinking that will make it worse, killing  indiscriminately is what they do, do you wish to become a terrorist as well.?  My condolences to all involved, Crush, you are a lucky guy...

Mourn the dead and pray for the injured. There is plenty of time for justice or vengeance.

I am glad that everyone that I've had contact with is safe. And for all of us , that goes without saying, but what of those who we haven't had contact with that have been damaged or killed by today's event. I didn't loose anyone that I had contact with at the World Trade Center, but I feel as affected by these actions as if I did. These are American lives that we are talking about, innocent American lives lost on American soil!
This didn't happen is some foreign country that has 4 enemy boarders surrounding it, this isn't about a thousand year old tribal war that as a people we are part of,   it's a senseless slaughter of of our fellow countrymen and innocent children that has made it's way overseas to our shores.
We are bombarded by newsreels containing millions of crazed people from other lands burning our flag , chanting death to the US every week, look at the faces in those crowds.... now take the children out of the mix because they are still innocent.....all of those crazed people were children and were able to grow into these adults, or as governments call them , innocent civilians....
Are these not the people responsible or at least enabling of such horrors to happen on our shores?
I'm sorry if this offends anyone , but diplomacy hasn't worked, sending our children to fight in other lands to rid the world of evil hasn't worked, we just allow our children to come home in a box! The only thing that has changed is that more Americans have died trying to bring justice to unjust people.
Retro Rocket, I wish  there was a way to fix this without seeming indiscriminate, I wish that all peoples could live in peace , I wish there was no poverty and food was plentiful for everyone and I wish this world to be better than it is , but it isn't and we are dying on our own soil for reasons that don't even apply to most of us. It's got to stop, and justice should be sever and swift for those parties responsible. If you know of a peaceable plan please share it with us, I fear that this nation has lost hope and humanitarian approaches to this problem has only been answered with more violence on our shores. I watched this attack and it feels like 911 all over again maybe not 3000 lost but even one American life lost to terrorism is too many . My heart goes out to all those affected by these events.
If there is another option please share. I am desperate to find a better solution.

I have not seen a credible link indicating it was terrorism.. I think you need to take your finger off the red button and wait for enough data to make a conscious decision of who you want to crucify.

On a side note. An innocent life should never have to pay the price, no matter what side they might get stuck on.

Cafe, It is terrorism, the word is not tied to any group or ideology, it is an act.

RB I saw the Towers burning and had my best friend in there, who got out in time. Other people in Town did not.

We cannot face our enemies as we did in WWII. Vietnam proved that and probably Korea. It is not working now. Our best bet is good intelligence small surgical strikes against their leadership.

Back to Boston. It was a crime and it was conceived to harm a large number of innocent people in what would normally have been a fun time. It has put NYC on high alert and will disrupt our daily lives down here. It will put the people of Boston on edge and probably all of our major cities. That is what Terrorists do, they disrupt normal living.

Mike, I know how you feel. When I was not up your way, I had to go past Ground Zero every week. You can feel it every time you go past a spot like that. After a while it is less intense, but you always feel something.

Best thing you can do is just go about your business, if you don't, the bastards win.
