Adjustable steering stops GL1000 front end conversion
« on: June 13, 2013, 08:40:43 AM »
Anyone have a photo of how they did this? Did you drill and tap the stops, or just drill the base of the tree next to the stops? If you drilled the stop, how large a diameter thread did you use?

Thanks for any help!

I drilled and tapped out the stops on the lower tree.
I think the size was 10-24. Cannot remember, just matched to some small allen head screws I had.
It drilled quite easily.

Thanks, although it is difficult to see the screws in place in that photo even when I enlarge it.
Also, while I recognize the upper tree, my lower GL tree is different to yours. I will follow your lead and post a photo when I am finished.

It's my stock 77 750K triple tree. No screws in place in that but you can see the tapped holes.
