Have trailer-Will travel..
« on: July 07, 2013, 04:06:26 AM »
No, not Richard Boone.  :)

I talked with my friend (Corky) yesterday about picking up some bikes. He is the guy I bought the Dream from. I don't know where he finds these bikes but he does and picks them up cheap. Corky forgot I was looking for a S90. He found a runner but sold it. I'm holding it over his head.

Corky is up in Northern California and touring the Western States. He is stopping by (undisclosed) to look at two bikes I'm interested in. The plan is to buy several bikes, depending on models, and storing them in his 9000 sq. ft. warehouse. When I get four or five bought he will bring them down all at once. Might even resale a few before bringing them down.

I'm getting into the smaller Honda's. They are cheap to buy, cheap to build and a blast to ride around town. You can turn a nice profit on them as well depending on what or how far, you plan to go. Of course the CBX, CB450 is always on the list. SOHC fours not so much. (flexable for the right bike)

Should know if my first purchase happens by the middle of the week.

Have trailer-will travel continues after a word from our sponsors.

He travels around the North Western States buying smaller Honda's. The 50, 70, 90 cc bikes. Might as well pick me up a few.  ;)

I have a few models I would like to have. Being able to store them and bring all at once is a plus. To hot down here anyway. I trust his judgment, he trusts me for funding. He is a Horse Trader, I'll say that for him. I have been trying to buy his GB 500 with  4K on the clock. Just can't get him down.

Hoping for a two bike purchase next week. Will see.

You Sir, are more than welcome.

I believe your friend had a White S90 if memory serves me correct. Corky bought a runner for $700 then sold it for more. I still hate him for that.  :D

He said he would find me another. We shall see, we shall see.

That bike...my buddy let it sit for too long with the petcock on, and when he went to sell it she wouldn't start, and it looked like crap...So, he gave the buyer (who drove two hours to check out what was supposed to be a perfect running bike) a smokin deal on it.  I should have tried harder to buy it from him, but he was firm wanting more than a grand the times we had discussed it...when it was a perfect running bike.  Oh well.

No worries. It's not on my "top hit" list but I will buy one if it should pop up. That CT 90 I did could barley get out of it's own way.  ;D ;D ;D

Corky can pick up the small stuff. That's what he shops for. I'm looking for 150, 250, 305 cc bikes for now.

OK, Reno area as we speak, possible purchase later tonight. Bike number one. Another possible tomorrow.

Let's see what we can buy!  ;) Trailer can hold up to 8 bikes depending on size. Might as well do 8.  :P

Here's the deal. You know, and others here, that out in AZ,CA,NV most bikes are trashed along with high prices. Other places this is not so true. I have all but given up on anything here or around here. Even Vegas is bad. Hack up a nice bike, call it a cafe' and ask high price.

The smaller CC bikes are getting more popular, at least here. Every small CC bike I have sold doesn't hang around long. They are fun, easy to work on (the dream was not) , plenty of parts.  Hoping the deal goes through tonight and tomorrow.

Stay tuned.

Purchased last night from a 80 years young gentleman who, at one time, was a Honda Tech. Corky says it purrs like a kitten. Other than mirrors and missing side cove it's pretty sweet.

Haven't talked with Corky yet today. Seller said it was a CB 360 with CL pipes however the tank says CL. When I get the VIN confirmed we will know. Running, titled, 16K on clock. Cost $500.00.

Will call this a "good buy" either way. Was Corky's find so I'm not sure if he will flip it or sell to me with a little fuel/time on top. Looking at one that I am interested in today if it can be purchased right.

Looks like a CL to me(seat, tank, etc) and at $500 a steal. I almost pulled the trigger earlier in the year on 1975 bronze all original CL360 with less than 1500 miles wanted $1600. I should of went on a got it, but I got the GW fever and didn't rest till I found one. The little CL would of made someone a nice bike for around town riding.

I understand guys but Corky told me the seller was very clear that it was a CB. This was before he had a chance to look at it.

What happened after the sale I have yet to hear. He worked at a Honda dealership so he could of had these parts.

I will definatly let you know. Hold them please.

Like I said, I have no details. Could be missing both sides, could be in a box. Very few details other than it was bought and in the trailer.

So..number one is. **Updated, not happening.** Sigh. To far away. 1970 CB450.

And number two is. **updated**

Working a deal in next hour. "NO SALE"

Ca200 motors are very low power and not easy to get parts for is my understanding. They are not a ohc design.
