Cam tower Pucks/Seals and head gaskets that are good
« on: September 09, 2013, 04:38:43 PM »
So I finished my bike and am riding but it leaking from under the head. I suspect its from the head gasket and/or the pucks.

I plan on replacing them. I used the Cycle-X kit. It was my first engine rebuild so the fault could totally be mine, don't want to blame anybody.

What gaskets and puck did you use that did not leak and where did you buy them?

Thank you for any tips/links

Here is how to check puck thickness:

I understand Cyclex carries good thick pucks.

Big no to both.

Oof, I'm venturing into my first rebuild. Unfortunately I'm learning from your mistakes. Def read Hondamans build thread, towards the end if it now he talks about his gasket set and pucks.

Hope it gets better!
