Looks good!

Reed welcome fellow Wisconsinite! I'm just north of you and have a 550 gsxr build going on right now.

Thanks! Ive got a 1980 CB750 DOHC build going with the typical GSXR front end as well. Love these old bikes with modern fixtures! Where exactly are you located?

Looks good.  I just sold my 80 cb750. Looked just like yours.
I like how you are using the GSXR rear sets.

I know Pod filters are a pain in the ass to get tuned with stock carbs. I get it. I don't care though. I will admit that the pods are on this bike mainly for a cleaner look.

With that said, does anyone have a good resource for attempting to tune pods with stock carbs? The only engine mods are the exhaust and electronic ignition for now. I plan on doing a stock freshening up on the motor in the near future and that will probably be the most in performance upgrades the engine will see.
The search function just directs me to a bunch of threads where people are going back and forth on trying to convince the original thread poster on putting the airbox back on.

Yep exact same one as yours. I got a great deal on a ton of GSXR parts from a wrecked bike so I'm trying to incorporate as much as possible. Had to make my own brackets etc but that's the fun part.

Take the front stock gsxr fender off. I had mine on for a while and I was planning on leaving it but it is just t0o big. It makes the bike look so much better without it. I know of a company that will be producing smaller fenders for our exact swaps soon.

Interested in the aftermarket fender. Can you leak any additional info?

Not yet.
I am hoping for something that retains the fork tube protection like the GSXR fender but is a lot smaller.

So far I like the GSXR fender, I do agree it makes the bike look much bigger! I wonder if that Bandit is an aftermarket or just a trimmed stock fender.

Given the level of finish on the bike, and the designer involved, I doubt it's a trimmed down GSXR fender.  Probably an autoclaved carbon fiber custom piece!  Then again, maybe they just took a Dremel to a stock fender.  It looks nice!

I have a spare hotbodies gsxr race front fender that I am going to take a variable speed right angle grinder too. Ill report back with pictures of a nice piece or an abomination.

Nothing really knew. I started to smooth out the weld on the exhaust where we added some tubing. I believe these are Mac headers but someone can correct me if I am wrong.
I also started to do a rough polish on the collector and was thinking about doing all of the exhaust. I think it will all look better coated in black though. If I was filthy rich I would have a stainless steel exhaust made.

No luck. I had to order a pressure regulator for my air compressor so I am waiting on that.

Anyone know the length of the battery strap?

http://www.vintagecb750.com/products/5/electrical/55/wiring-harnesses-and-charging-system-parts

Trying to fab up a little section in the tail for my battery and will maybe use one of those straps to keep it held down.

Any measurements on the rear axle spacers? I have a DOHC model but just wanted to get an idea. I have the same CBR rim with a 160 tire.

These are the custom spacers I had made.
Right rear spacer

left rear spacer

DO NOT MATCH THESE SPACER SIZES if you are doing the "same" swap as me. Yes I used a '96 CBR600F3 rear rim but It has a 170 mm tire which is larger than the stock 160 mm.  The rear swing arm (which i used a cb550 swinger) was widened with the use of a high temp blow torch and the expertise of someone who has been doing metal fabrication for 30 years.

I took the basic Bates Style 5.75" Black Bottom Mount Headlight and replaced the H4 60/55w bulb with an LED unit. http://cognitomoto.com/collections/lighting/products/h7-led
A lot cheaper than other LED headlight units I have found.

It's rated at 3600 lumens, 5600K color temp, 20 watts on low and 30 watts on high. It is significantly brighter than the H4 bulb and half the wattage.

These are the tail lights I will be using. Purchased them from revival cycles. http://store.revivalcycles.com/collections/lighting-1/products/led-light
2 reds for running/brake light duties and turn signals.
The fronts will be the motogadget mblaze

Made some frame tabs out of spare steel for them. Trying to figure out a good spot for them

They are extremely bright. Almost bright enough for me to feel bad for the people behind me. Almost.

All the electrical devices haphazardly laid out. M-unit, battery, starter solenoid, regulator, rectifier. I wish I would have purchased a reg/rect combined unit but oh well. These have a lifetime warranty from oregon motorcycle parts.
I want a clean underside of my tail so nothing will poke threw. I'll need to weld some platforms in the rear tail section to keep all the electrical devices off the rear pan and not just bouncing around in there under the cowl.

I am going to weld a plate in the location shown in an effort to not have an ugly license plate ruining the lines of my rear tail section. I'll install some white LEDs to light up the plate at night. I wonder if the cops will have an issue with this location.

Nice! Where did you have those made or did you do that? I bought some washers to try and get an idea and then I am going to have some made.
