Pro,

Looks good to me.  Add some silver or gold pin stripes and make it pop.

Some pics of the wrapped 4 into 1.

I only did the primary tubes for the momment, and think it gives off a more industrial/raw/un finished look.
It is next to impossibile to wrap each individual pipe, because they are so close to one another, and have no room for movement.
Plus you have to remember I did this while the exhaust was ON the bike... :o

I actually used the headerwrap from the old pipes over again - now thats recycling ! ;D

I let the wrap soak in some water for awhile, wrapped them as tight as I could , then sprayed them down with some
high heat black paint, and I was done. Once I get the exhaust welded up, I might wrap the entire thing over again - we shall see...

What's the purpose of the wrap?

Who's that woman in your avatar?

I don't think I waould paint the whole engine. Even with sanded fins, I think it might disappear.

wrap has no purpose, it covers up the purpose.  porpoise.  and i wouldnt be posting at all if i didnt think the black engine with aluminum fins (like your points cover) would look awesome- especially on your bike.  i can see it and it is worth doing.

1. The girl is a model from Sucker Punch Sallys bikes in Ohio.
Her name is Kristen , and she is a really cool chick , and hot too boot... :D
2. Header wrap is designed to keep the heat IN the pipe , to make more power.
The more heat is routed THRU the exhaust, the more power is made..
I did it more for a visual thing to add to the oldschool / raw / racer look the bike has going on.
3. As far as the motor goes, we will have to see if I get crazy with the paint or not. I kinda like the silver motor as a contrast
aginst the black bike, but it being blacked out would look cool as well. We shall see what happens...

Pro,

As for painting your engine - don't!  IMHO it looks great as is, plus you will be opening up yourself to a bunch of labor and potential issues with the paint peeling off.  Save the paint for things that can rust and polish the bright work.

i HIGHLY doubt I will paint the motor.
I can just see down the road the mess it would make with flaking paint and such. ::)
Plus, I kinda like the dull silver contrast to all the other black parts on the bike.
So I think the engine will stay silver.

PT,
I like the gloss better. Here's a thought: What about painting a silver line along the bottom of the tank? One that extends the line from the trim on your seat. I like most things naked, but your tank looks like it's missing something to me. I think the line would shorten it up a bit and make it look less "billboardy." Just my opinion, of course.

And keep the motor as is. This from a guy with a F3  :-\ ;D

I plan to have the tank shot with a pro basecoat/ clearcoat black paintjob over the winter.
I have some killer Honda badges from the early 60's that I plan to put on the tank, so that will take care of the "billboard" look it has going now.
