Home purchasing under well regulated and managed lending practices is still a good financial model.

Credit union! Canada!

Oh what I wouldn't give for a sane, REGULATED banking system like our neighbors to the north.

Nice, plenty of room on the driveway for cars by the looks of it. Is the garage already wired for power? Your laughing if it is, wish mine was. I got lights rigged up but that's it, extension cords for me if I need power lol

That looks great mate, after living in Army houses for the first 20 years of married life, it was a great pleasure to finally buy my own house and (with the help of my wife and kids) turn it into a home. I don't look at it as an investment, but it's nice to know that I've got over $350K in equity, for roughly a $160K that I've paid out so far.

I'd never buy a second property as an investment either, I still remember when my dad inherited a nice old house and he spent more money fixing it after the tenants trashed it than he ever received in rent. I think I'd rather invest in medical grade marijuana....... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Lol

Well I thought that I could become a "Weed Rancher" to make some retirement bux, but of course, there'd need to be an extensive testing program to ensure that I was producing a quality product............ ;D

G'Day Steve, well, it's illegal in every state, but has been dealt with slightly differently in each state. I'm hoping that eventually our governments will see some sense and legalise it, instead of demonising the wonderful weed........... ;D
