It was a good action film but I was disappointed that for most of the movie Max was just along for the ride. I mean he only had about six lines in the whole movie!
Also, very disappointed that the iconic Interceptor received such poor treatment.  >:(

It was decent - The action sequences were worth the price of the ticket, Tom Hardy is a decent Max, and liked the idea he was tormented by ghosts...But thought that the band truck was dumb and very disappointed in what they did with the interceptor.

Saw it the other day.  It was a good effort.  The cars looked amazing, but the Interceptor did not die a worthy death.

The Road Warrior is still my favorite installment.

I'll have to re-watch the Road Warrior. Until I do this is now my favorite Mad Max movie.

This is IMO the best by far. Max didn't need to say much but you understood him. Him suffering from PTSD was a lil twist which I liked. Added more substance to the movie and allows for another movie.

Well that's two hours of my life I won't get back again.  Definitely didn't live up to the hype, IMO.  Poor character development of just about everyone on screen, and there can be a thing as too much road action.

Ha ha, I can't imagine why anyone would go to see a Mad Max movie and then complain about "too much road action"? Geez, that's be like going to see a porno and complaining about too much sex? ;D

I haven't seen it yet, but I want to, the guy I sold a CB750 frame to last year worked on it as a set dresser and told me all about George Miller spending millions developing his own camera for the movie, then not using it? Apparently in real life he's as crazy as the toe-cutter and this movie has consumed him ever since Thunderdome, it's pretty much his life's work, so I think I should donate a few bucks and go see it. Hell, if it sucks, I'll still enjoy the popcorn.............. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

No offense but this is what the movie was hyped about the action. Terry's comments are classic.

Well as promised, I took the wife to see it today. You know that you're getting old when you remember that you took the (same) wife to Mad Max 1 back in 1979, although to be fair, we were just going out on a date back then.

Anyway, it was fcuking brilliant! If anyone hasn't gone to see it yet, do so, and don't wait until it comes out on DVD etc, because even your 80 inch TV sets won't be big enough for this bad boy. If you love mechanical lunacy, you'll love this movie, the acting was fantastic, the action was non-stop, the vehicles and scenery were incredible, and so the whole spectacle was just awesome!

Quite often I'll see a movie thru to the end just because I've bought the jumbo popcorn and it takes me that long to eat it all, (or as much as I can eat before I feel like puking) but in this case I really enjoyed it, and so did the wife. It's been a long time since Thunderdome, but it was worth the wait................ ;D

G'Day mate, Australia's deserts are as wide open as always, but due to unusual rainfall around Broken Hill (where the other MM movies were made) the "Post Apocalyptic" landscape bloomed into life, so it was necessary to move all the Aussie actors, crew, vehicles and equipment to Namibia. ;D

I thought it was an awesome movie.  I read some speculation and analysis that this "Max" may actually be the little kid in the hole with the boomerang all grown up taking on the role of his hero. One thing for sure, CGI does not substitute for the real stunts after so many years of CGI stunts I really like to see that they took the time and effort to really build and blast everything in live action.I could totally tell the differcne. They say they got 2 or 3 more coming so I hope they keep up the great work, I'm sure they will.

Ha ha, I watched the news conference after that "behind the scenes" u tube vid (which was excellent Cycleranger, thanks for posting) where Tom Hardy (Max) mentioned that there wasn't actually a script, so he wouldn't have had to worry about muffing any of his lines, as there weren't any! ;D

Well that explains a lot! I do look forward to the DVD. Hopefully they'll do a "directors cut".
I have a feeling there was a lot more crazy stuff that didn't make it onto the screen.

I took my wife and finally saw it. It was my first 3D experience. Took for a while to get used to but I thought  only sand storm / tornado scene was worth watching in 3D. I am a big fan of the movies so I like it but I felt that it was extended amplified mega bucks version of Road Warrior. I made my wife watch all 3 of them first before this one as she was not even born when any of them were released. In other words she has unbiased fresh pair of eyes.

Below is what she had to say. I edited bit as she has foul mouth.

"I went in fearing it was going to be the road warrior 2.0, and those fears were kinda confirmed?

it was literally the road warrior; like literally the exact same film

i mean I REALLY ENJOYED THE ROAD WARRIOR, and more of the same of that was by no means bad because fury road still felt very fresh, but i feel like all the people going nuts over fury road being the most original and new thing since sliced bread have never seen the second mad max movie before

but in any case, IT WAS A VERY ENJOYABLE FILM AND I AM V. HAPPY IT EXISTS

also go go tom hardy
yet very sad about the extremely noticeable lack of mohawks, which were such a big part of mad max et al before. what gives.

also now some spoilers and vidya game talk

i have no idea when this movie was suppose to take place; like were his ptsd flashbacks the kids from BEYOND THUNDERDOOOMMMEEE? but where the heck did his interceptor come back from, because it was blown up in road warrior?

like switchum and i just joked that max wanders around the desert rebuilding his interceptor LOL JUST FOR NOSTALGIA and lo and behold HOLY BALLS APPARENTLY THAT’S THE PLOT FOR THE TIE-IN VIDEO GAME

WHY

like the first movie makes it clear v8′s are super rare and i just

6___9

switchum just says “ALTERNATE UNIVERSE”

him not saying much and the way he kind of says this name is why some people made that connection. When he finally said it, (they saw it like) it was sort of uncertain or chosen at the moment. At the end of the second one the old man narrating was the kid. The time for this one is sometime after thunderdome from what the director said. just fun speculations anyway.
