Tank is looking good!
I use Bill Hirsch tank sealer on my rockcrawler tanks
and never had a problem.Just don't ever weld on
it again.Did that once and got myself stuck way
out nowhere with an extremely plugged fuel
system.

Yeah, once you bust the membrane with heat or whatever, you're asking for trouble.

My new Pirelli Route 66 rubber arrived today.  I think it was CBGhia, who I met in October, had one on the back of his bike.  I like the semi-retro look.  I think it'll fit my vision.

Yes, Joe has em on his 550 cafe, he's a very fast and aggressive rider.
I'm sure they'll suit you fine, how can you go wrong with Pirelli?

I think they're going to look good on the bike.  For the price they should perform well.  I can pretty much guarantee they'll provide a much smoother ride than the rigid I putt around on now.

Ya think!? Put a single on my sons mono Suzi last Xmas and he really likes it. I had a great experience with them when ordering and do like the way they look.

New kickstand arrived today.

I've accumulated quite a few new parts.  I find myself bouncing around too much when trying to get something done on the bike.  I can't decide what to work on because it all needs to be done.  Kind of a catch 22.  Should I buy the parts while I've got the money or hold off until I get caught up?   I need to get a few more parts and then I'll probably quit buying for awhile until I really need something to continue...or maybe I'll just keep buying parts.  Ultimately I'm going to need all these parts anyway, right?  Decisions, decisions.  The fun part's going to come when I start ordering parts for my v-twin.  I want to rebuild it for Sturgis '15.  I need to get cracking on that soon.  It won't be nearly as severe as the CB750.

Buy buy buy!   I'm always buying parts, especially when I come across good deals.
It's nice having parts on the shelf when you need them rather than having to wait for them to be shipped.

One of the most frustrating things I've done in a long time.  I think after the front wheel is done I'm going to retire from wheel lacing and truing.

Random thoughts...

Well, not really that random.  They all pretty much apply to my bike build.

The intercooler line on my air compressor broke last Saturday.  I'm waiting on the new parts.  Kind of out of commission until I get that working again.

I took the plunge and bought a mig welder.  Been wanting one for a couple of decades.  Now I'll be able to work at home and not haul stuff up to work just to weld.  Waiting on that to come in also.  Was on the verge of buying a bike lift table, but for now it will be better if I have the mig welder.

Got a good start on my café style seat pan/rear section.  I'm about halfway done with it.  Hope to post photos soon.

I'm really digging Toyota's Sunset Bronze Mica.  It's a strong candidate for my gas tank color.

I finally got the rear end mocked up so I can start doing some fab work.  First will be the inner fender which is a cut down Harley Fatboy front fender.  I cut away more fender than what I'll end up using.  Once I've got the fender where I want it I'll fab a new oil tank and battery tray.  After that I'll make a hoop and fit the café seat/rear section, which is under construction.

I also bought a little Hobart 190 mig welder this week, so I don't have to drag parts to work anymore.  Been wanting a mig welder for a couple of decades now.

Thanks.  Hopefully I can get the fab work done and the frame in primer in the next couple of weeks.

I finally got the balance of parts painted.  I just have the frame and sheet metal parts left to paint...and whatever engine parts that need to be painted when I get to there.

The guy who gave me the CB750 sent me this photo last night.  I never got to see the bike together and running.  If you go back to the first post in this thread you can see how rough it was when I got it.

Side note...I just bought a lift table.  Should arrive next week.  Hopefully time spent crawling around on the floor will be drastically reduced.

Not a bad looking bike, Bud, but I'm confident your plan will blow it out of the water.

I'd like a lift too, what did you get?
