no point arguing about a guy and his wife in office 6+ years ago, let it go.  As far as making health treatment faster and cheaper.....

Stop letting the illegal aliens have free healthcare (no matter where they are from)

Stop people from taking just sick people, (cold, cough etc) to the emergency room for treatment.

ALso cutting down on the frivolous malpractise lawsuits would cause the doctors to pay less for MP ins and hence they could charge us less money...

Sometimes the simplest viewpoints say it exactly like it is. Unfortunately your list of fix-it's could be applied here too.

I think ANYONE who chooses a political side is caught up in the spin. If you listen to ANYONE with a political view, you are not getting all the facts. The republicans or conservatives are only out for big business and lining their own pockets. The dems want to apply various degrees of PC to everything. Both have their own agenda and neither are working for the common good of our country.

You ARE a complete IDIOT if you stick by ANY party. A person has to find the truth on their own and leaning to any side will nto work. It is all about finding the middle ground.

Burma, chill out. Screaming out jingoism about a simple little sentence is retarded. I think even jerry's kids refrain from that.

Everyone, if you are conservative OR liberal, you are missing the boat and not helping anything.

Well said, Eldar. All politicians, unfortunately, become scum once elected, no matter how moral they may be beforehand. Having been intimately witness to provincial politics here in BC I've seen stuff that would make your skin crawl.

Everything may have a bias but does that mean you need to be blind and follow what one group says? Or do you choose to be biased towards finding the truth.

no, what it means when we teach high schoolers is that you should never trust one source, or one kind of source for your information.  Try and develop your own opinion of what happened and consider the other point of view especially if you dont agree with it.  As the best way to prove the other point of view wrong is to consider it more deeply.  The truth is like a true plane or other geometric shape that requires perfect dimensions.  it doesnt exist in nature, but its a good model for thinking about the world.

edit:  i dont tell the kids that second part about the truth.  some things they should realize on their own if they have to.

Yes, but that is too easy for most folks. Look at how emotive people get on this forum about controversial topics. Did someone say "conspiracy"...................!

IMHO, I don't think there really is such a thing as truth anymore in politics (if there ever was). Something is only "the truth" if it's damaging to the opponent. Truth is a subjective thing- it's what we want to believe.

on the way in today--you've seen the weather.  you know i was in a car--i had the displeasure of listening to the fallout of this Folley incident.  in my mind, there is no more serious crime, nothing more damaging--though i don't know the ages of the people involved.  they were playing the responses of other senators and every one of them is using it to their political advantage.  it's like they're happy cause they have some ammo.....disgusting.  i switched to a CD.

All politicians are scum. If you keep that in mind at all times when you see them, hear them, speak to them or whatever, you know where you are at.

How do you know when a politician is lying? Every time he/she opens his/her mouth.
