my 1977 cb550 build with panhead internal throttle
« on: September 28, 2014, 07:16:10 PM »
Hello i'm new on this forum but i thought you guys might appreciate this build. Its a 1977 honda cb550 four with 4039 original miles! Somebody hit a deer and rolled the bike but its still in pretty good shape considering its last inspection sticker was in 1982. Its been garage kept all that time. The only thing ive done is add some harley panhead bars (Still dont know how im gonna make em work.) And repair a hole in the tank. Im thinking about a café-ish style dont know yet. I would welcome any input you all have. Thanks!

Have you had the frame checked (by a pro) to make sure it is not twisted, bent or otherwise damaged?

Those throttle. Use a hard wire, not cable, may work better with CV carbs with lighter throttle action..

I had an engineer friend take a look at everything before I brought her home as that was a concern of mine and she's straight and strong. Only cosmetic damage. I may switch out the bars because of the carb situation but I really don't want too. I really like the look and feel of them.

There's a For Sale listing with tank and side covers to fit your bike. Original condition and no massive dents/Bondo repair like your right side...
