Bent Rear Shock

I'm taking apart a 75' CB550F and noticed that the left rear shock is slightly bent. Is there anything I can do to fix this or should I just buy a new set? Thanks.

Assuming they are 35 years old, I'd be shopping for a set of Hagons.

Looks like the damper rod is straight but the spring is out? Hard to tell. Either way, something is amiss and Stev-o is on the money I reckon.

I'd want to be sure the rod is actually bent. Spring could not be seated perfectly centered or can bow a little either side I suppose as nothing keeps it centered.

For kicks and giggles, verify the preload adjustment is the same on both shocks. Can't tell from the picture, but it does appear the left side is compressed tighter than the right...

But, I'm with the others, the springs look out more so than the rod/body.

For giggles again did the bike ever have shock lowering brackets on the swinger ? Those can put some undue stress on shocks with the new angle.

try to turn the spring araund...it can be done by hand...and see if the spring are broken a bit off..it can make  imposibel to straighten the spring..
or schrev the top off.............and rooll the spring on a straight plate

PS- Honda did not use a big lock washer on the head of the lower mount bolt  ;)
