What the processes that went into building it? Or are you trying to duplicate it?

This is the only piece that you need FFL transfer for.   From what I understand it was forged, machined and coated.

The rest are parts that youi can buy anywhere and piece it together as you wish.

I want to get into building my own AR platform, especially an 80% lower. Cool project!

But in canada ARs are classified as "resitricted" firearms BY NAME. So stupid. We can ONLY take them to a certified range, only go straight there, filing paperwork, registering, etc... Not worth the hassle of extra licensing compared to non-restricted long guns. Same goes for handguns.

But we can get 12" double barrel scatterguns no problem, though! Ask away about Canadian firearms laws... always a good lesson in "WTF were they thinking!?"

Nice rifle!  I always liked the Savage AccuTrigger, what an excellent technical solution.

.22s are hard to find in my area, btw.

I am a revolver guy, I don't care much for fast shooting, I hunt with single shot 45-70 or single action revolver, but I like the idea "building it one piece at a time" and the endless possibilities of AR-15.

Also having a rifle that can be shot a lot just for fun

I don't hunt, but I am the same way. I like practicing my marksmanship, and focusing on consistency.

What model is your 45-70? I have a Rossi single shot 12 gauge that is a hoot to shoot. I want a single shot rifle now, too! Simplicity is great!

If it comes from factory as a short barrel shotgun/rifle, it is legal so long as the OAL is >26". If you modify it yourself, however, to be less than 18.5" barrel or OAL <26", you are in possession of a prohibited weapon.

Awesome. I was debating between the H&R single shot 12Ga and the Rossi I bought. Rossi just squeezed it for price and a manual safety.

How is the trigger on Rossi?  I would of course love to have Sharps, but always spend money on something else.

Russians make 45-70 side by side. It semed like a good idea, even though I am biased against anything coming from that country.   Year ago I had the Baikal in my hand and it is very flimsy feeling gun, would never spend the money on it.

Remote farm folks I knew left the keys in the cars figuring  as it was, thieves  would take the car and go away without disturbing/dismembering them.

Every time I go to shoot my Rossi, it seems like the trigger is very light... but I usually go 22, SKS, Mosin, then to Shotgun. A bit gritty, admittedly, but I only have about 50 shells through it so far. The trigger has no slop, minimal takeup, and short travel after it breaks. In the spring I am going to go to my range's shotgun night more often.

Those are definately fun to tinker with, kinda like the cb's with parts everywhere and really customizable. They are a riot to shoot also, hopefully you get some trigger time in.
This is mine all dressed in magpul foliage.

I haven't got into reloads yet. Price has come down quite a bit now so I don't bother with it plus I don't shoot enough to really get into reloads. I just try to stockpile for the zombie apocalypse.

I started sorting my surplus 7.62x54R ammo by weight last night to try and use similar weighted rounds for better accuracy. I think I'll then sort by length for seating depth. My Mosin Nagant is quite accurate already, and I recently bedded the stock. Once the winds drop down here a bit more, I can get out and see how things have improved. I know things can be off because of bullet vs powder vs case weight I KNOW I KNOW.... but still easier than pulling them all apart and re-weighing them. I don't have a reloading setup... yet.

I got to shoot an SKS for the first time the other day and it was a lot of fun.  Was interesting mixing it in with our lever action marlin's and rossi that we'd taken
