Last week my 72 cb750 got backed into and knocked over.

There is now a nice big creased dent, chipped paint and the rear peg was bent past its lock position so it doesnt work correctly any more.

I immediately got a police report so I have that in hand. My coverage with Geico is pretty decent. I was wondering if anybody ever filed a similar instance for a bike this old and how it went?

This is my second bike, and I rebuilt it from the frame up my self so Im a bit sentimental towards her....

I had Progressive insurance when my first 5 drowned in the flood from Irene, it was kind of a PITA for a little while but I was covered.... They were totaled, I bought them back for a few bucks each and rebuilt them, and put them back on the road....They are still insured with Progressive.
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.

I have progressive and I got hit from the side at a stop sign. Threw me off my bike. It was her fault so her insurance took care of it all. Not too much damage but it all got fixed. It went pretty smooth. They even replaced my helmet with a more expensive one. Got the bike's damage appraised at about $1300.00 and they paid it all. No questions asked.

It seems your situation is different since you're not going through the offender's insurance. In either case, this is what insurance is for. Seems like a pretty typical claim for a payout.

let's call it "mature bike", ok? don't want to hurt the feelings of the senior bikes population here.

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

Two fellow forum members filed claims within the last year or so. Both came out real well.
Make a list of all the parts you need and where they can be purchased online with the prices (look for the most expensive)
Give this info to the insurance adjuster.

Yeah I just filed on the offender's insurance about a month ago. Most of the damaged parts are no longer available and I had to resort to "market" prices on NOS parts (eBay) and replacements from Yamiya750.com. I also got an estimate on labor. They're insurance did me well.
