It's awesome you got a set of carbs to use. I hope your seat is better than mine was. I sliced an inch off of the foam before coming home. It's flatter now and not tilted to the tank, my legs catch some of the weight too that helps.

That's the pending plan. My brother in law works at the KOA at Mt. Rushmore in the summer. I want to see Devils tower  and may continue west.. There is a Goldwing get together the week after too. If the 79 had a better seat I may have continued on two years ago but the seat ruined me physically for a few days even after I was home. The mufflers were crumbling also.

I see you are in PA. I was in Chambersburg and Gettysburg late in the fall and W. Virginia a couple weeks ago. Collecting early 750 engines and parts.

I'd much rather be on the road going somewhere than sitting in my little apt. waiting to move..
Don,What type of seat was on the last GW you had that messed-up your trip last time ?

I'm not sure, it appeared to be stock shape with a smooth marine vinyl cover but the foam was hard, peaked in the middle and sloped toward the tank. When I got on I had to drop my drawers a little due to the bunching up as I slid forward. The result of the peaked seat was my weight was concentrated on one spot. The result was I almost sang soprano after 15 hours on it. It made the rest of the trip not as fun as it could have been.
The hacksaw blade foam trim job I did after arriving made it a lot better, going home my legs supported some weight and no more sliding forward. Great bike after that. The PO of the 78 put on a big old cushy seat and wore it out while  the stocker was stored away. I put the stocker back on and like it a lot.
