RE: New Tapered Uni Pod Fitler with Honda Wing

Hey Guys,

Check these out they are UNI filters that are tapered and have the Honda Wing on them.  They are reasonably priced too.  The other day while on thegsresources.com forum researching air box solutions for my GS1100 as buying a used airbox is very expensive I came across their pods thread.

99.9% of the pain came from people buying cheap pods.  What is wrong with that you might ask?  We'll the cheap pods block the air jets and keep the bike from running properly.  I really like these unis as they do no block the air jets at all!  Proper jetting goes without saying.

So what do you guys think of these?  Pretty cool right?

This is great. Keep your engine in tune or the "wing" piece will come flying right off, never to be found again.

Don't ask me how I know that :) (this was on a thumper, so YMMV).

So I got the filters. Turns out they are EMGO style pod filters with UNI filter foam attached on the outside. They are sized larger than what you would normally install on a CB750 and a custom rubber ring is installed inside to fit the carbs and not block the airjets. It looks like a nice mod and I will give the filters a try. I do feel the eBay ad was a bit misleading. After I got them I sent the seller a question and got a quick response

Me:
Are these regular EMGO style pod filters that you have modified? UNI filter doesn't make these. Thanks for any clarification.

Response:
Hi
Yes you are correct. These are the chrome with screen style pod filters covered with Uni filter foam.
As the description states:
"pod filter (62 mm long x 74 mm diameter) is made from chrome plated steel and a stainless steel mesh covered with a 60 PPI seam sealed Uni Filter foam filter".
the core is not made by UNI just the foam.
Thanks for asking
Andy
