Aftermarket Master brake cylinder
« on: May 10, 2015, 05:18:16 PM »
I would like to purchase a new Master brake cylinder for my 550F. Any suggestions on a decent one that won't break the bank yet is an improvement over the stock form?

Is there a specific one you recommend?

I've used these on a 500 and 750. No complaints. Several vendors sell them. Not sure who actually makes them.

I had that one. I didn't like the look of it. Looking for a more modern style I guess.

Why a new replacement?
why not rebuild a CBR600 one or something?

If you look around you can find the CBR type ones for almost no money.
Modern look.
Rebuild with OEM parts and you are good as new.

Honda used the same style casting on a tone of bikes and used a few different size bores.
So you should be able to find one for your application

If cost is an issue, check out new Nissin radial master cylinders or a used OEM radial master cylinder.

I'm using this one and love it. But it's meant for clipons with a 15° angle, not sure what you have. And it's a little expensive. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=151593590459

 This ++++++1

 Add stainless lines from Slingshot and EBC pads.  Much improved stopping and still looks stock.
