Have a 3G flip-phone, no interest in getting a smart phone.

Check emails when I'm on my laptop, and do have a Facebook page.  Don't need the smart phone instant notification that I have new emails or someone posted something on my FB page, which, BTW, only has about 25 "friends" (to incl family), and about half of the notifications are turned off.

Have a Garmin GPS...and an iPod thing to play music...will never own a device that has all those features on it, because it'll be a single point of failure (it's a military thing)...and yes, I can read a map...how many people using GPS on their smart phone know what the primary map colors represent?!

I haven't voted in years, no one worth voting for, and it's also my right to NOT vote.  Just retired back in Dec, after almost 30 years in the Air National Guard and USAF Reserves, got a Bronze star, Command badge, and all other kinds of flair for my uniform, so don't lecture me on peoply dying for my right to vote (and NOT vote).

Never owned a bike with a kickstart, never will...

Don't care for hockey...

As far as cops go, you have to give respect in order to get respect.  Police are not there to protect you, that's YOUR responsiblity.  So that's why I conceal carry, have numerous weapons in my home, and will not hesitate to use them should I feel my life or the lives of those around me are in danger.  Winning the hearts and minds of our enemies, two in the heart, one in the mind!

Absolutely cannot stand political correctness.  You're short, not "vertically challenged".  You're fat, not "weight challenged".  You're dumb as a box of rocks, not "intellectually challenged".  You're a fag, not "sexual orientation challenged".  You're a he/she, or a shim, not "gender identity challenged".  I could go on and on...

I agree with most of this except, why call someone homosexual a "fag" which is completely derogatory  name calling {nothing to do with PC}, I've never seen a gay person referred to as "sexual orientation challenged",  my point is, I hate ignorant bigots as much as political correctness... If it makes you feel any better, I don't have a smart phone either... ::)

G'day, Retro! Someone told me you didn't have a newer phone because you were afraid it would be a "smarter than you" phone?  ;)

Well said about the PC vitriol. Can't stand someone who can not refrain from a lack of civility when expressing an opinion. Thought we moved out of 7th Grade already... ???

I'm old school with the phones mate, I'm actually quite adapt with the technology, I just think phones are for making phone calls...?   ;)

Yeah they are. I wish I could remove half the crap on my phone as I never use it anyway. Telephone, text, email, maps. What else do you need? Alas, technology oppression I guess.

How the bikes coming along? Must be getting near on the first to sell and fund the others by now?

Just waiting on a few more parts as usual, the frame has been dropped off for Bracing but the guy is very busy and its taking some time, he's very popular, I made the mistake of telling him it wasn't urgent, doesn't help that he's about 50 miles away either. Winning the lotto would also help... :o
The wife's becoming more and more unimpressed with the growing number of boxes... ;D ::)

I resemble those dilemmas. My wife left for the weekend on a camping trip issuing the ultimatum: "That black lump in the middle of the den had better be gone upon my return..."

I sure hope she enjoys her trip. It had best a long one!  ::)

My other half is actually quite good, its just that i have about 15 boxes of all sizes right next to me at the computer, which is right next to the dining table... ;D :o

I always claimed to be old school, but since it's coming back into "style" I can't tell if I'm still old school,or new old school, not enough school....
Had a cell phone for the last 6 months , hated it , let it expire...it so peaceful
I haven't added a friend to facebook in 5 years
Check Email, this site and Crags list every day
I use a checkbook with hand written checks
Don't use credit cards
Have no mortgage
Own and drive 3 1 tons everyday, newest one is 1990
Bought a 99 250, sits in the dooryard , too ugly to drive daily
I fart when I want , but hold it til no ones around
I always burp loud and tell my wife" that was for you baby", she never appreciated that for some reason...so I do it often.
I respect anyone who has a gun when I don't, like cops, haven't been arrested in forty years but , there's still time.
I apex every turn , in everything I drive, In the snow it's always sideways, just because

this could be where "the old school "or the "are you a  redneck" share some common ground.
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.

Likely the weirdest old school for me is shaving with straight razor for last 20 years or so.

I have a cell phone (no home phone) but don't like talking on it much.

I celebrate Festivus.

I generally refer to the students I teach as Sir or Ma'am and ask that they refer to me as Sensei.

I check email when the alarm sounds but normally delete said email prior to reading it.

I have a FB account but only post funny pictures/stories (nothing political).

When I fart, I glance in the other direction.

My kick starter doesn't work when the light switch is turned off.

I have no problem with police officers so long as they treat me with respect. It's the meter maids I loathe.

Once in a blue moon I like a dollop of whip cream in my coffee.

Smart phone loaded with e-mail, snapchat, FB, the forum, and many other useful items. No landline. Why? No need.

I vote knowing full well none of the folks I vote for will ever win. (I'm a registered Libertarian) I agree to be governed, I just wish it were by people who gave a crap about me and not money.

I like stuff much older than me. Tube amps, Carbureted cars and bikes, music, etc... I was born in the wrong era in many ways.

I have no preference for or against kickstarters. It's there if I need it.

I feel uncomfortable when people call me sir. I am no sir.

Cops...There are plenty of crappy ones out there who are getting away with things that would put you or I in jail, but I generally have no distaste for them. I know the ones in my town have seldom done any good for me when I have called upon them. Meh.

I'm not politically correct most of the time. I am when it would be a pain in the ass conversationally to not be. (I mind my P's and Q's in the company that requires me to)

I rarely excuse myself. It's a bodily function we have no control over in normal life. Get over it.  I also don't make it a point to rip up a quiet room full of people with my hind end.

Facebook is what it is. I use it a lot. I have friends and family who are far away from me and it keeps us in each others lives.

Wow. I am boring.

I'm DEFINITLY OldSchool ;D
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

I listen to The Doors and Led Zeppelin regularly
The next new car I get will be a Pontiac in the 69-72 model year range
I do not own a cell phone, and don't miss the associated monthly charges
I still read the newspaper
The internet is cool though
I believe if a person flatulates loudly, they should look at their significant other and ask them why they couldn't have waited till they got outside.
I drive in the slow lane, usually the speed limit, and slow down for tail gaters
I don't know why electric motors and push buttons replaced cables and levers in automotive hvac systems
I hate computer language. Is the word "print" in "print preview" a noun or a verb?
Why do I have to go to "start" to turn a computer off? ;)

It's an indication that you will now start to do something productive and useful with your day once the damn thing is turned off.  ;)

Mine says "Démarrer" , whatever that is.
