THAT MOMENT...when you're about to put your 75 piece tap and die set away, when instead you flip it over and dump it on the shop floor.

The moment when you realize you've been wrenching on your plugged up K0 carbs from the floor and there's a cb400F sitting on the nearly new bike lift. And you haven't touched it in a month and most likely won't be finished this year.
Yes, I took it off the lift.

Or that moment when you post a stupid question, you should have already known how to deal with, then you figure it out, realize you wasted everyone else's time. But now it's too late because everyone already took time to try to help.
 Oh, and thanks.

You're tired,
your hands are covered in grease,
you are bleeding in a few places,
the frame has fallen over twice,
you are cold as the temperature has fallen to -1C, (last night/this morning),
your gloves are off because you sure as heck can't pick up all them ball bearings that scattered when the frame fell over wearing gloves,
the wife has called o ut to you and asked if you want a beer (after you told her you have given up beer),
you have the forks, fork trees, nuts, washers and spring tensoner on the 1971 Kawasaki S1 (unique design) all together,

AND THEN,

you notice you forgot to put the fork ears on!

THAT MOMENT...

...as I was sailing along on the freeway yesterday on my CBX on my way back to my shop to meet a customer, when I felt the bike start to lose power, and remembered that I had siphoned nearly all of the gas out of it so it wouldn't get stale. But neglected to reset the tripmeter or make note of the fact such that I might remember this fact followed by...

THAT OTHER MOMENT...

...as I was making my way to the shoulder and nearby exit ramp, reaching for the petcock to switch it to reserve when I realized that although the 400F I was riding in the morning had it's petcock oriented one way for on and reserve, the CBX was the exact opposite. And I was indeed, already on reserve, and all the way out of gas.

I got lucky, there was a gas station a short 1/10 mile away, and it was only 85 or so degrees. A short push for a good reminder :-).

lol...done that so many times...it seems like every bike ever made has different locations for run-stop-reserve...How many combinations can there be?...just another of god's punishments for having one (or more!) too many bikes.

The car has been packed for ages, I've had the car warmed up in anticipation of early departure , reversed out, locked the main gate, cold day, 4 hours drive to the Alps, waiting on the (ahemm) partner to finally get ready, then she saunters to the motor and says "I've slammed the house door closed, but you surely have the keys, don't you ? !!!"

When you have a GL1200 Aspy on your bike lift table and wondering why the 1k capacity table will hardly budge it only to realize I placed a couple of ratchet straps to the very bottom of the base rather than to the table itself.
