Thank for all the info guys it is appreciated...aside from the exhaust and the pods the bike is stock....i was really hoping that the slides were in backwards and that was the. Problem...the choke was spot welded visually perfect....i guess im gonna throw the carbs back together. Bring the fuel level down a little bit from were it isright now...and after that doesnt. Work. Itll get covered up or sold unless i take another intrest in it....thanks to you. All again.......signed "the cb550k has fried my brain"
You can do what you want, but I'll just say that the people on this forum aren't just backyard mechanics that know a little about motorcycles who joined a cool hobby website, this is a forum of some extremely knowledgeable individuals with vast experience with SOHC4s and other bikes as well. From engineers to sought after machinists and engine builders in the motorcycle world who have been working on these bikes since their inception. You can get your bike running beautifully if you heed the advice people on this forum are willing to give. Do everything they say and answer questions to the best of your ability, supplying correctly oriented pictures

and HD video will help tremendously. That being said, these people have lives and if they feel you're not taking their advice, (I dare not speak for everyone) will often move on to help someone else more willing. It might be good to go read through your thread again and see if you missed answering any questions or missed some advice you haven't tried yet. That is to say if you already haven't started the cremation process of your 550.
