Bar end mirrors?
« on: September 19, 2016, 05:14:52 AM »
I need to buy some mirror(s), preferably round and silver . I have bar end turn signals on my '73 CB750 so I believe I need mirrors that CLAMP-ON. Most of what I can find for bar-end mirrors require an insert into the bar end...which won't work since I have Bar-end turn signals. Anyone come up with a solution who has a set up like this?
If it helps, I am planning on picking up some motogadget bar-end turn signals to replace my existing ones. Motogadet has mirrors...that I assume with with the turn signals...but only in black...not silver.

thanks

Hey Nicewing, A lot of the bar end mirrors that you can buy, you can actually remove that little piece that opens up inside the end of the handlebar. This leaves basically a Clamp on 7/8" mirror which you can either attach on the inside of your grip (towards the frame) or if you move your grips in about 3/8 - 1/2" you should be able to clamp it on the end of the bar which will still leave the end open to attach your bar end signals.....

I'm not sure if i'm explaining this correctly or if it will work that way with the bar end signals you have. But I hope this may help, may just take some playing around with the fitment of everything but you should still be able to get it to work. Let me know if I can help.

I just bought Rizoma clamp-on bar end mirrors.  I believe that they have them in a round and silver variety.

I have seen classic BMWs with a combined bar-end mirror and turn signal. I suggest you trawl the relevant websites and see what you find. You're likely to find more on the German sites. Before you buy, beware that very old BMWs came with 25mm (1") bars, so the bar-ends may not fit our more modern 22mm bars. i don't know when BMW and the other classic German makers went from 25mm to 22mm but it would have been around 1950?

If nothing else suits your fancy, you may know a friendly welder who will weld together a set of bar-end mirrors and turn-signals the way you want them

Some of the 70's BMW's had 22 mm(.866 diameter) diameter bars, close but not the same as the Honda bars.(.875 diameter)
