They were OEM. Never had any this tight. You have to pry them out and not pop them out like on certain Honda's. PIA.

Sorry the seals are such a PITA...at least it ain't no CA77 or CA78 with it's constant wrong parts hassles...

Boy, here I forgot about project nightmare and you bring it up again. True however.

No color has been picked yet. Would also consider a dark metallic gray.

The seals may have been deformed when they were installed;what did the fork seal driver look like ?

You know how it is guys. You wake up in the middle of the night with an idea. Yeah, you're a brain surgeon alright.

I put the right leg in the freezer for the night and walked away. It dawned on me that a tire spoon would work better. I wrapped electrical tape on the end, took a piece of fuel line and split it down the middle for something to pry against.

Five minutes later both were done. The left side was an old seal so it popped right out. I should of walked away earlier and saved the frustration. "Right tool for the job" comes to mind. I should know better.  ::)

So, I ordered a seal driver and new seals. Like I have said, just keep throwing money at it and something will happen. Still taking a break from this as I have "life things" I need to do. Next week is the Laughlin River Run so it's time to clean up the Ducati.

Actually no. I've owned it for over two years and never washed it. Guess I should of said detail the Ducati.  Looks dirty to me.  ;)

Fuel tank done. Turned out nice. Thanks to all for offering to fix it.

Reputable body shop did the work. Renne said he couldn't pull it due to the deep crease but he pushed it all he could then filled. Didn't want to chance welding and pulling. No worries here.





Caliper apart and being cleaned at my friends shop. New seals and shoes ordered. The MC and rotor were done so it makes no sense not to do the caliper.



Hoping the fork seals arrive tomorrow then it's finish the forks. I'll button that up and mount the wheel. This will leave the caliper, exhaust, carburetors and lastly paint.  ;)

Plan on keeping it and passing it on.  ;)

Parts arrived from CMS located in the Netherlands. Pretty quick I might add. Parts are called intake pipe specific to the 400 model only. So, everything from the head back to the air box will be new OEM with rebuilt carburetors.

You could get it clear PC's and the PC worker would mask-off/plug the holes,it would definitely stay that way then.  8)
