I was originally going with Ceriani style Triple Clamps, but needed a wider set, because of the Brembo calipers needed more room.
So I machined these up, but added the adjustable offset bushing. 45mm Offset with 2.5mm and 5mm offset bushing for 40-50mm range.

So are you machining spacers for the hub to calipers to accommodate for the wider fork spacing?

Yes, I modified the hub and then added spacers. I do sell spacers. Any size up  3/8 thick of  $30 each

Engine is going together now. Top to bottom. Nothing special. Just mild cam, oil pressure gauge, electronic ignition and solid state regulator.

I did it as a range to be in. Going beyond the red voids the warranty. ;D

Since I had the dial custom made,  I can make it anything you want, if you buy the bike.

BTW, if you want the red range at 12 o'clock position, just loosen the outer ring and rotate the tach.

Visited my buddy Paul last Sat, he wanted to see my GPz, so I rode that over.
While there I took a few minutes to see his YB6, which has a Yamaha 989cc, 140hp Bimoto. There were only about 550 of these made, his is mint with only 475 miles, it's in his living room!  He also has the Bimoto book which looks to be a great reference book.






He obviously has the seat and bodywork off, but I'm riding this thing once it's back on the road!

Looking at the diagram Stev-O posted, I'd be curious about steering lock issues with the way the frame front tubes pass outside the upper upper rails. Surely Bimota dealt with this, but in real life, I'd love to see that frame and triple setup and see how much rotation lock-to-lock there is.

The triple tree will be stopped by the upper forward frame.

HB1 in different trim, history, factory parts lists, etc. I bought 2 of them years ago and gave one to a friend for his birthday. I found them in what was basically a bargain bin.

That's an interesting point. I wonder what the original HB1 entailed with respect to engine modifications? For the depth of this "recreation", I would think an 836 Wiseco kit would have been installed to produce better performance consistent with Bimota heritage. It would be a shame to have a bike all dressed and "no way to go"...  ???

I know you are referring to the original one but, I'm not too sure any HB1's were sold with engines, they were essentially a frame and body kit, totally up to the buyer what engine specs you'd run.... I think the HB1 was built before Weisco started making piston kits for the 750, 900 and 970 {as Honda were using},  were popular for racing back then... ;)...

Incorrect there, Mick.  Actually Bimoto manufactured engines later on but had major issues:

Bimota ultimately recalled the entire run of the motorcycle. While this was occurring, during the 2000 World Superbike season, one of Bimota's main sponsors disappeared, owing the company a great deal of money. The combination of events forced Bimota to file for bankruptcy and close their doors."

I was only talking about the HB1 Steve. So back to being "correct".... ;D ;)  Any Bimota with the "B" in the middle of the model designation is equipped with another manufacturers engine, only the V-due bucked this trend..  I'll have another go, The First letter of the model designation of Any Bimota is a reference to the engine manufacturer, HB1, Honda Bimota 1st model, YB1 Yamaha Bimota 1st model,  KB1, Kawasaki Bimota 1st model and so on...

They had Keihin 28's for Pete's Sake! The recipe Bimota has always integrated was a manufacturer's motor, tuned and turned up, plus a frame of their own design, and suspension of the highest quality available, plus their bodywork.

But I'll return to my prior premise: given the nature of this recreation, Wiseco 836 seems the minimum.

Yeah, I understand why you are saying Cal, what I was saying is that most HB1's i've seen, all had different engine configurations, I've seen them with Jap auto 970/1000cc engines, 900cc kitted, 970 kitted, CR31 equipped, It was up to the buyer what was done with the engine, after buying the frame and body kit, Bimota didn't supply them with engines, there were 10 "kits" sold , I'm pretty sure that the only ones that were produced at Bimota that had engines in them were Bimota's actual race bikes, the ones that were sold to the racing public were just frame kits, No engine fitted... ;) .

The kit..
 
 1    frame, made of steel tubes (Columbus).
 2  swingarm box, steel.
 3  Ceriani fork (35mm).
 4  Front oil tank.
 5  four exhaust pipes.
 6  runways.
 7  petrol tank.
 8  fuel cap (Alu).
 9  Saddle-tail holder (GRP).
10  front rim (magnesium).
11  rear rim (magnesium).
12  Dual front disc brake (Fontana).
13  pump front brake system.
14  rear disc brake (Fontana).
15   shock absorbers (couple Ceriani or Marzocchi).
