Bike missing warning sticker...
« on: March 13, 2016, 09:13:46 AM »
My bike missing warning sticker, the one warning that the kickstart lever may get caught on pants leg! Geeze! ;)

Hahahaaa...never had that happen before! Pulled up to a stoplight yesterday and went to put my right foot down. My pants leg was hung up with the kickstart lever! After the fraction of a second of shear panic I freed my pant leg and all was well. Literally in that fraction of a second the scene of the bike rolling over on top of me trashing my exhaust in the intersection passed before my eyes!

Thank goodness for my cat-like reflexes and superior bike control from riding moto! :)

I wasn't even wearing "high waters" or anything like that I swear!

Gunna blame it on the new kickstart rubber and lack of a warning sticker! ;)

Cheers,
Kenzo

There should be a tiny little warning sticker on the ends of the footpegs too although I'm not sure that all of them rolled off the assembly line that way.

I have been through that fraction of the second, only difference being my shoelace getting tied up to the shift lever on my brand spankin new K2. In that fraction of a second, I could foresee my NOS HM341s getting banged up  and went oh hell no! All was well after some precise throttle and clutch play till I got the balance leaned over to the other side so I can set my right foot down. NEVER AGAIN!

Had the shoelace incident more than once too. Tuck it in the shoe now. Give you a scare :)

I worked in a factory and had to wear shoes with metatarsal guards. I got one stuck between the pedal and the engine and yep, over on my side. I had a jammer and crash bars back then. no harm done except everyone I worked with seeing it.

Yup, right there with you, Prokop! Had fun with the shoelaces getting caught on the shift lever or brake pedal. Now I only ride with my Thorogood cycle boots and no problems. ;) 8)

Too wide pants! From the 70's when the pants should hide the entire shoe? I remember, I had it as all others.
Nice boots 70CB750!
Gasolina has more of the good looking ones.
I have Alpinestars WEB GTX with Gore Tex to make it water resistant. Possible to wear when walking around in town and protect the foot+ ankle. A little bit short though.

So that's why hipsters tuck their pantlegs in their boots. I thought it was just being "ironic".  8) I know the whole "blue collar work" look has to be ironic considering most of them are sitting in a cubical working up a sweat pounding out code on a keyboard.
