Ditto on that...the long way home should be much more fun that way...

I think I got it , reused one gasket and nay have forgot to tighten. 1080 spotted that.
Just took it 5 miles, looks good. Not going to get everything done on the bike, but it looks like it will do the ride. Will try to leave in the morning. Be a fun ride I hope. .

Fantastic!

2085 km to go  Frank, easy two day ride for you...safe travels all.  Bud, you wasted no time to get there...
Going to ride up to Royal Gorge before headed back home?

Sorted my lights except the turn signals, but I can use my hands. New LED headlight works SO much better than the conventional and also the halogen I was running recently. I cruised down to my sister's last nigh, had to swap the shocks. The older Monroe progressives I had put on it last week turned out to be completely shot, but I didn't discover until I had left the shop (and my old shocks) behind. Fortunately I had another set of OEM's in a box down here. So swapped them last night. I'm going to give the valve clearance one more check, go grab a filter and oil from Autozone to do a change and then I am out of here. Shooting for Omaha tonight, Denver tomorrow and then Dolores on Tues.

Man! You guys are covering some serious miles in 3 days.  Don't ride tired!

See you all there...If we get there early enough I'll turn the Guzzi's saddlebags into coolers for arrival refreshments :)

David

First thing, the weather is awesome.  We're going up to Purgatory today for some of their summer activities.  Tomorrow is the train ride to Silverton.  Not sure what we're doing Tuesday.  Wednesday I'm riding to Dolores for the reunion.  Not sure what we're doing Thursday.  Driving home on Friday.

I'd like to get a ride in just to look around Durango if I can squeeze it in.

Speaking of Cannonball....we found ourselves on what's called Cannonball bridge which is an old converted train crossing over the Wabash.  NOT made for motorcycles!

Let's see if this link to the video works

You guys were right, the noises were just hot oil and mountain grades. The rider however didn't fare as well, I'll spare the gruesome details but was miserable riding and had to choose between 16 hours riding back home or 40-50 continuing on. I wussed out.

Greg, I'm assuming you'll be on 191? The road going east, 46, at LaSal Jnct, UT has a really nice view as you cross the border into CO that I'd recommend if you have the time for a few extra miles on the way in.  Hugh sweeping panoramic view. It's much better taking it eastward than westward.

I made a brief stop for some supplies. Rain covers for my boots and waterproof gloves since I left my Goretex glove shells at home.

I love my fairing SOOOOOOOO much. ;)
Thanks again the hospitality Mooshie. The peirogies, beers and whiskey made my night. I'm stopped in Barstow right now  grabbing some food at the Black Bear Diner. 200 more miles to Havasu!
So much to do, so little time.

Holbrook AZ. Beautiful ride especially from coffee in Kingman to beer in Seligman along old 66. Even the HD guys wave back here. Details later. Here's some pics cor now. Waited out a pretty harsh thunderstorm at an abandoned garage in Two Guns.

That is definitely enticing :)

We caught the confluence of the Mississippi and the Ohio Rivers yesterday

Drove through most of Kansas today via 160W through southern Kansas.  It was absolutely beautiful...but dang this is a long state! Rose got a bit excited when we found an old bridge :)

Finishing the day in BFE after some burgers from an aptly named place :)
