The New Pics Are UP
« on: November 27, 2006, 09:58:59 PM »
I've finally gotten around to taking some pictures of my bike, and I put them up on tabblo:

Burmashave's Bike

It's a 1977 CB750K with CR29 carbs and a Dyna 2k ignition.  I started the restoration late last spring, and I thought I'd be done by mid-summer, but as things always go, it took me until mid-October to get it running properly.  The good news is that the Northeast has been blessed with a bit of Indian Summer these past few days.  I rode it today, and I should get in some more riding on the morrow.

Glad to see the points cover will go to a nice home (assuming it's going on this one?)  Nice bike!

So how are the CR29mms on your 77?  I'm running stock pipes and carbs on my 78 K project that is cammed and has an 836kit but I am considering CRs somewhere down the road.  How's overall driveability?  Thanks

Hey, wow, you guys are really kind.  Thanks for the feedback.

Glad to see the points cover will go to a nice home (assuming it's going on this one?)  Nice bike!

Yup.  If you look really close, you can see that the points cover is the one cover that's a bit lacking in luster.  ;)

I love 'em, but I don't have much to compare them with.  My bike wasn't running well at all when I got it, and the last bike I had ridden was a '78 CB750 in the late '80's.  (It's great to finally be riding again!)  My bike now has solid power, and I attribute a lot of that to the carbs because I know that my compression is weak and uneven.  I hope to do a top and bottom end this winter, and that's why I don't mind running the v-stacks.  The only thing I don't like about the CR's is that they do not come equipped with vacuum fittings for syncing.  I bench sync'ed them, but I will prolly install fittings at some point -- the fittings are cheap and it's just a tap job.

Nice looking bike there Burma. So where are you hiding your Dyna controller? I have to ask because they are kind of a pain to find a good mounting location. Do you have any pics of it mounted?

I can do you one better.  There was a discussoin about where to mount a Dyna (scroll down for MRieck's pics -- my pics are on the second page).  We think the best place is the front of the battery box.  MRieck did a very sweet job with some flat aluminum bars.  That's how I'll remount mine if I do, but with the controller panel facing up as mine is now.

Yeah.....I remember now. I was all in that post but it slipped my mind. I'll have to take a peek back there behind the battery box. I did finally get one pic up in the gallery that shows how I mounted mine. I like yours better because it is more hidden away.
