rear turn signal
« on: April 30, 2017, 11:31:16 AM »
i repaired the contact inside my rear turn signal.  i've found it only works when i touch the body of the turn signal to my seat frame.  once i pull it away it stops working.  i figure this is a ground issue?  there is a black wire soldered to the turn signal removable tab which i imagine is for ground.  i've traced that wire up over the rear fender then under the seat and then it is wrapped at that point and heads probably up to the headlight?  as always, any help appreciated.

oh and the rubber sleeve in the bracket is intact.

Yeah you've got a junk ground.  Ther should be a common ground (GREEN) with a multi port bullet terminal under the seat coming from the rubber jacket.
- If its anything like the setup on a 550 - there should be the three ground wires from the rear markers sharing a ground..maybe two.  I think the tail light has its own circuit.

found the problem bomber.  everything checked out under the headlight for the most part.  the soldered ground was not making a good connection to the tab.  connections under the seat look ok.  i omitted that the ground from left side was coupled with ground from right at a junction under seat with bullets.  thanks for piping in.
