1973 CB500 Tear Down to Build up

So this is my new bike build. I started when i was 18 with an old Kawasaki that i built into a street fighter platform. I sold it when i was 21 and used the money for a new build. I bought an cx500 and built a cafe out of it. Well some unfortunate turn of events and i had to sell it. Well i found an old CB500 for sale in Kansas city and had to buy it. So i just started to tear it down and buy parts. I just bought a whole Front end and rear end assembly from a friend for a hell of a steal so im going to use what i can. Ive help build more than that but those are my builds. Glad to be apart of the community.

Im starting the tare down, i will be posting pics the whole way and will take any advice on the bike as well. Sorry about the messy garage, storing my brothers things while he is over seas.

Well i was able to get everything taken apart for the most part. I just need to take the carbs off and take the motor out of the frame so i can match up the zx6r rear swing arm to the frame and weld on the mount for the mono shock. I ill post pictures later. I also need to stop by the mill shop to pick up my new pivot shaft for the swing-arm swap as well. So far no issues. I do have a question though because i keep reading on how the transmission has some flaws, while everything is apart should i look for some specific warning signs the transmission needs repair?

Worn dogs or any bent shifter forks. If you find evidence of wear, have the upshift side undercut. Simple.

cleaning the frame up for the brat seat. The rear swing arm has been mated and it is a perfect fit. Now just need to mate up the mono shock.
