CB900F or GSXR1100......it´s a R100/7

I know not to compare, but which one would you prefer for the collection / sunday morning ride.
1980 CB900F or 1987 GSXR 1100, both blue, both stock, both very nice , same price.

I'd get the GSXR....seems like from your other posts you already have or had many bikes that do the same thing as the cb900f
If it works good, it looks good...

Yes, and already had a 900 Boldor. I remember vibrations that caused my right hand to ..? (don’t know the word). Very nice bike.

Never had a GSXR. Love the look of the early ones.

So, I would take a look at replacement and aftermarket part support for either if you look to own them for a long time.

Both look like nice finds. It if I recall correctly is a bike with a great torque power curve and feels like and is a quick bike.
I think I would look at the Suzuki just because it is years newer.  The CB900F would be fun but

The twin headlight Suzuki is one of my favorite of the early liter rocket bikes.

You should check out the video from Motorcyclist. They got a vintage GSXR to ride alongside a brand new GSXR down the Australian coast.

For wife´s sake that bike would have to replace my ZRX1200R. One comes, one must go. Thats the rule of the game.

I'm glad my wife doesnt have that rule!  But rules are made to be broken. +1 on the Suzi...

The Suzuki is becoming more collectible and going up in value.  That said, keep the damn ZRX!!  It's a bike design that transcends time.  BTW - have you seen what Compton Customs does to them?

I owned a 1987 GSXR1100. It was mostly in original condition with the exception of an aftermarket pipe, 36 Mikuni flatslides and a set of light weight Kosman wheels. I've had a chance to ride a few CB900F's and I will say the Zuk outperformed the Honda, hands down. It even handled better in my opinion. I loved that old bike. Unfortunately it got stolen one year while I was in Daytona for bike week. Oddly, I had my bike chained to a pole in the parking garage with a disc brake lock. There were newer model bike parked all around it but the low lifes pushed those bikes out of the way to get mine. What a let down for me. I only had liability insurance on the bike due to its age so I took a total lose. Hindsight says I should have had full coverage.

So, my opinion is to go for the GSXR

. Got pissed off with traveling around the country and looking at more or less neglected bikes with broken plastic parts sratches and funny stories.

Bought her on the phone, will be picked up by a carrier. Just have three bad pics. Will be brought to me on Wednesday at 6:00 in the morning. We’ll see what I bought.

wow, that GSXR looks great!

R100/7 just came in this morning at 6.00.

Like this one: just a few modifications (fender, seat, muffler, ...) give a completely different look.

You can spend a lot of money turning a BMW /7 into a café racer. That large tank is almost worth its weight in gold. Several years ago, I found a 1978 R100S in a "barn" and was thinking about café-ing it. Decided to leave it stock. Much better expense/value ratio.

No....it was done by a local shop.  He got caught up in a charity auction and overpaid for it.
