 I called Real Deal Steel today to check on my new 69 Firebird body, they said there are two Camaros ahead of me so it should be done the first week of May. I have a guy coming to talk about him buying or helping me with selling a few 750 Honda's, I'm thinking 5 or 6 need new homes to make room for this project and maybe pay for the engine.

Hey Don...was not familiar with RDS, interesting website.  Was your body so rusted that this was the best option for a new body?

We we restore our '69 GTO, many panels had severe rust and I just purchased aftermarket body panels as needed [my painter had a local contact]

Cranked up the '69 Mustang, needed a little starting fluid but then started right up and sounded good.  Took a nice drive, it is handling better now with the rebuilt steering box and ram and at 70mph it's no longer screaming thanks to a reduction in gearing [3.25:1]. Going to clean it up for a big car show next weekend...

Hey Dave...I made an error, it is now 3.25:1 and I believe it was 3.90:1, the guy before my brother had the car set up basically as a drag car.
He also installed traction bars, the front is welded to the unibody so they are staying and helpful for the occasional holeshot!

Yesterday we tore down the original 360ci V8 from Bill's 74' Dodge Ramcharger. It's getting rebuilt with new pistons, aluminum heads and intake. Probably a Holley Sniper EFI to top it off. It already has a 4" lift and 1 1/4 ton axles.

It has a 318ci in it now so it can move itself around the yard. Next year it goes on the trailer and back to his cousin's body shop in South Dakota to be derusted and painted. It will stay back there for good.

I'm trying to get back in shape enough to go on multi day rides again. The first ride is already booked. Four days to go to Lewiston Idaho and back. No freeways and about 250 miles a day. All of the food stops are already decided.
Like I keep telling the doctor, I ain't dead yet!

 My body man said the cost to repair was equal to replacement. I decided that I didn't want to put a high dollar paint job over metal that may be hiding pits. I already had that with my 40 chevy.
 I stocked up on body panels, RDS said it's possible they may get stuck if something comes up difficult to get. I told them if that happens to call me, I've most likely got it here. It sounds like it takes about 10 days for each body, they have made a couple hundred F bodies so far so they know what it takes.

  I did an inventory of the 360 magnum engine project that my brother left here a decade ago, it has a big roller cam, aftermarket valve train, flywheel, an Edelbrock 4-barrel intake. What's missing is a distributor and front cover. The best part is the new Hughes ported Mopar magnum heads.

It's that time of year - get the boat ready for summer!   The 496 Mag started right up after months of just sitting in the slip but the stereo is not functioning, an important part of the boating experience for us.  The head unit seems fine but the amp doesnt seem to be powering up, need to bring my meter with me next time.
