I know I'm preaching to the choir here.
When attaching the side cover badges be sure the wing is facing forward, I've seen several facing back.

The engine is back together and i got it into the frame. Im not quite done polishing engine covers and putting them on, but i need a break from that. I wanted to get it in the frame so i can work on other things and bounce around a little. Ill get the front end on next then maybe go back to the engine and finish it up. The clutch cover is the last engine part to polish.

I made a but of progress today. I aim to get the front wheel cleaned up and installed tomorrow so it will be a little more stable. Long term goal is to get it done by next thursday so i can ride it to bike night, then get it sold. My gas tank has not yet arrived, though. It needs to get here pretty soon.

I know. Its coming tomorrow night. I cant wait.

My record for assembly was a 73 cb750. It was completely apart, save for the engine and i assembled it to a runner in 1 really long day.

Me and my buddy assembled a FZ09 (engine complete) from basket case to complete bike in about 36 hours.

I didnt get much done as far as assembly today. I had a little less time than i thought i would. I got the battery box and tool installed, polished the brake caliper bracket and installed, and got the front wheel most of the way cleaned up and a little bit if a start on the rear. All thats left for the front is putting the disc back on and i want to try to clean up the rust spots on the rim a little better. The rims are not near as nice as id like, but theres just no budget left for that. All of the chrome, in general, is just so-so. Oh well, the next guy can get it all redone.

Its been a couple months since i tore this down and i forget now where the hose that comes out of the upper rear of the oil tank goes. Does anyone know about that?

That hose is vent to atmosphere. It should end between engine and swingarm on right side. Good work on that k1 Dave, keep going!

I didnt have the budget for new chrome, so ive been soaking everything in a big bin of vinegar. Its my favorite, effort free, method of cleaning chrome.

I made quite a bit of progress today. Unfortunately, i wont make my deadline of tomorrow. I thought i had a new chain and sprockets on hand for this, but they turned out to be for a different bike, so i had to order new. The tank showed up today. It looks fantastic! Just need to other badge to get here. Tomorrow i plan to get the bars on, wiring done, front brake rebuilt and mounted, rear signals mounted, seat mounted, carbs on, and hopefully hear it run.

I had decided i would save the side covers for last so i wouldnt damage them, but i couldnt help myself and put them on to see how it all looks. Enjoy!
