1970 custom cb750k
« on: March 09, 2018, 07:54:10 PM »
Been wanting to do this project for about 5 years and finally got around to it. It started out as a ratty old 70 the my uncle had gotten back in the 70s. He passed away in 1980 on a bike and so the cb went to my other uncle who let it sit. In the early 2000s he gave it to me to tinker with. I was saving up parts to make it into a cafe racer, well life got in the way and she just sat in the corner until last year. 3 of the 4 kids have gone off to school and many other projects later i figured now would be a good time to start.

the engine was trashed. I ended up putttin in 1977 SS an engine in, rebuilt the engine, installed an 836 kit, a race cam from cycle x. Ported the head and put bigger valves and springs in. Replaced the valve guides and seals. I had a bunch of parts built up over the years from other builds and I had a set of CR specials 29mm sitting around so i threw those on it. I also had a MSDmc1 sitting in the parts bin and decided why not. I designed and built the seat pan. I took an r6 taillight that i had and fiberglassed it in. the tail swivels up to gain access to the battery. I replaced the front end with a front end off of a 2005 r6 and running 2002 gsxr disks. I also had some orange paint sitting around that i picked up for free for a local paintshop that was throwing it out. 1991 chevy orange i think. well this is where im at with it and its far from complete. I have already done one complete restore of a 72k so dont hate because of the hacking I have done on this.

This will be a fun bike that you won't feel like you have to "baby" like your restoration.  Ride the bejeezus out of it.
