Guys that have seen flickering oil warning lamp at idle when engine is very warm should be interested to upgrade the oil pump.

yes it's definitely worth asking in the regular forum as tbis is a generally useful replacement/upgrade, also for stock motors.

I bought 2 sets to CB750.
My K6 really needed  last warm summer running hot, oil pressure going down when oil thinned out. Good fresh fully synth oil that can handle extra pain.
It has now a better pump thanks to Mirko's rotors.
Another pump restored with oil in waiting to be installed.

The 650 rotor OD is the same but is definitely wider. I don't have a pump with me, I'll check when I can.

Is this where the 27mm number came from? Will the 650 pump fit the 500/550?

I would be interested in a set up for a 550

you are on the list

I need 10 sets ordered so CNC shop can give me normal price... I made 50 sets for cb750(that comes to 100 inner/outer rotors pairs) to achieve really nice price for people.

I am sure we will find enough people for 10 sets. Just I am occupied with finishing primary tensioner ... soon

logic tells me that cb650 should have same pump rotors

The 650 pump rotors are definitely wider, than the 500/550 and the 650 pump does bolt on the smaller engines.

Mr race engine is all buttoned up and safety wired so I prefer not taking it apart, but I'll dig out a 650 engine and tear the pump apart to measure for you....hopefully tomorrow.

so cb650 has 27mm thick rotor, same profile..... Thats hard to machine because of thickness. Cutting tool for machining rotor profiles is 5mm in diameter and on deep of 27mm it will be bounced from rotor profile by several 0.01mm. at least thats what CNC operator told me... 22mm is doable
