Topic: 1980 CB650 Fuel tank needed

I recently purchased a 1980 CB650 Standard (non custom) with wire wheels cafe racer project bike. Unfortunately the bike did not come with a fuel tank. I am having a difficult time to locate a tank for the bike. Are fuel tanks of other years or cb types compatible with my bike without making modifications. Or do I have to focus my search to my year and type?

Any model 80/81 will fit but in 81 they went to a larger bung and fuel line.   So get a tank with the petcock and all you have to do is adapt the fuel line.    A 82 standard will also work.     But not the nitehawk.

this is a tank that came with my nighthawk. I am not sure if its from a 650 or not I think maybe but not sure . it needs work cleaned out and what not but here is a pic of it you decide or one of the forum
guru may know what its off of
