it's fun to drive around in an inexpensive truck and drag it on the ground. I certainly wouldn't want to do it with a big expensive one.  and it doesn't cost that much to bag and body drop one when you do it yourself.

it drags on the ground when you drive it? that would be irritating as hell.

cost? probably spent more on those goofy wheels/tires than it took to build #73 and thrash it for four summers.

fun? check.

winning isn't everything but it pays better than 4th place.

I agree with you on the rims, I'm a solid disc kind of guy.
are you sure you're not joking? There's air bag suspension on them, that means they go up about 10 inches and back down with the flip of a switch. you don't have to drag it everywhere...

you want him to use quad bellow bags? that would be inefficient.
I think he holds stock in the company that makes u-joints.

looks #$%*in.  I'm a big fan of raising a truck a little bit and putting bigger tires on it so it can maybe haul more weight and rumble down dirt roads w/o tearing them up.

If I had an infinitely huge garage and unlimited $$ I'd probably have a big toyhauler truck, a Jeep or something comparable with a welded roll-cage etc for rock crawling, and then a bike stable that'd put leno to shame.

My other thought on the kid's "creative" build is that it really looks like if the swingarm moves AT ALL that tire is going to go right into the seat.

He might do trucks ok with help, but he doesn't really apply that well to motorcycle mechanics and physics.  I'm not going to say anymore, but I can guarantee that if one of us found that heap on CL, we'd put it up in its own thread and mock it all day long.

well it's called a prerunner.  long travel with big remote reservoir shocks, just like trophy trucks in baja!  except this one is street legal!  and with fiberglass fenders, you can get 33 x 12.50's on there with 11 inches of wheel travel and 3 in. wider track width!  oh man, why couldn't i have cheaper hobbies...

because you dig motorcycles. ;)
I'm going to settle for a little junky geo metro or something for when the weather's too crappy to ride (those days do happen).

Trucks and stuff will have to wait, but I'm gonna watch and live vicariously through you. :D
