I need a heat gun to get my windshield on the fairing and also need some new plastic 10mm hardware to bolt it together, the stuff I have is chewed up. I wonder if I can get away with half metal half plastic hardware to add some strength.
The reason for the plastic screws and nuts are so they will brake away if you contact the windshield in a forward launch,  in a quick stop......
Acw hardware usually carries plastic hardware.

good to know, I went to one of my local ace hardware stores and they only had white plastic in one size, screws ands nuts no washers. I ended up buying steel Allen bolts, they were a little longer to assist with getting the windshield on rather than struggling with poor fitting and the original hardware not being long enough to make it through the holes. Ill have to keep looking for the proper hardware. With that being said, I dont really love the headlight attachment system for the FM2 fairing, its ugly and requires me to loosen my headlight every time so im thinking of a different attachment system.

I vote for Mister Whiskers!

Congrats on a quick recovery for the bike.
How are your nerves doing?

The day after bringing home my RE Interceptor in 2022 I got hit in my work van, that messed up my intersection skills for a long time, just noticing lately that I'm doing ok again.

I hope you have an easier time than that.

Maybe name the bike Felix after the old cartoon. 8)

I was able to place the exhaust in a vise get it cherry red on the bent header down at the collector, and move it closer to where it should be before trying to fit it to the motor in the stand. In the stand we got headers 3 and 4 attached first then got 1 and 2 cherry and got them in position and tightened up the bolts, it was way easier than I thought but I had help handling the torch while I moved the pipes. Synced the carbs and  took the bike up and down the road and it's great. The Shoei fairing got spray bombed and almost has all of the hardware swapped over and I have a plan of attack for the fender thanks to Godffery.

I'm super happy I was able to salvage my pipe, cant wait to ride this weekend.

replaced parts: entire triple tree assembly, fork tubes, fork lowers, front rim, (1) spoke nipple, (1) speedo/tach housing cover, (1) tire, Shoei fairing.

Did you get original new old stock fork parts, or did you get reproductions? Where would you recommend fork tubes from?

I used original parts, I was considering fork tubes for sale on eBay, race tech tubes, or from vintagecb750.com.

The tubes from vintagecb750 are a good deal, but don’t be tempted by their fork caps. The last sets I tried were junk. They didn’t even thread 1/2 way in before they started to seize up. Original Honda parts screwed in perfectly, so definitely lousy caps with poorly cut threads.

Actually I've experienced that issue before with new Fork Tubs.  Turned out to be the New Tubes were cut with a tighter tolerance then the original Honda ones were, and if the replacement Caps were threaded according the more forgiving (a bit looser) Honda Tubes, then they would be too tight and bind.
