Hi guys. I know it's a little bit unusual to start a thread with words "we have a runner" but who cares.
"We have a runner !!!".
Two weeks ago I realized I have most of the parts to put my k7 back together. I bought this bike for 200$ as a parts bike for my not running then k8. (it didn't need extra parts at all but I bought it anyway). After getting k8 road worthy I decided to rebuild someday k7 and even though I prefer the look of the earlier models, give it a chance to be reborn. I knew it will be long term project between other ones so didn't bother with opening project threads (I'm really not so good with keeping everything up to date). Today the bike run first time in 30 years (reg plates from 89 when I brought it home). I'm really pumped up and want to share it with people who may understand. Bike is not completed yet but I think it's good time to start the k7 rebirth story.
During disassembly I removed the name plate from the steering neck and promised myself it will be back as soon as bike will start for the first time. Now it's back on! Stay tuned. I'll attach some pictures couse I know you love them.
