The 52 prototype is running.
There were some problems getting it to go after resting 62 years.
There are two high pressure oil lines, both were leaking, oil was flying.
Come and listen to my story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed
And then one day he was shootin at some food
And up through the ground come a bubblin crude
Oil that is black gold Texas tea

Ride up and down the road, fix a few things, ride up and down the road, fix a few things.
First impressions, bike has some power, pretty cool in 52.
More reports when I can ride further.

The Norton 750 Atlas belonged to a friend that died of COVID. I don't know what happened to it after that. His ex-wife was trying to take all his valuable possessions away from his girlfriend that he lived with.

Wow! One of my college classmates had a Norton Atlas in the 1970s and it didn't look THAT good, even then!
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

The demons are repulsed when a man does good. Use that.
Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.

I had a P11 Scrambler that made to Atlas look boring! Still looking for another one.

It depends if the divorce was final and your friend had a will.
There were several Nortons in my town in the 60's and 70's, they disappeared in the 80's.

Norton-Villiers developed the P11 from the Norton Atlas and Norton/Matchless N15CS and G15CS models as an export model for the growing sport of desert racing.
The Norton P11 is a 745 cc (45.5 cu in) air-cooled OHV parallel twin motorcycle that was made by Norton-Villiers from 1967 to 1969.
I do not recall seeing one of these.

The exhaust note is deeper then CB750 or Z1, the bike has a unique sound.
I am concentrating on repairs and reliability, will try to post video when bike is reliable.
It sounds like this -

Nice to see the Ariel back together. A guy up the road from me has one. I've seen him out on it a couple of times. Fascinating engines.

I know very little about Ariel but your exhaust looks different [and new?] compared to the bike in the video.

These bikes are rare in usa, most are in uk, never saw one on the road, saw one at cycle show.
Ten years ago there was a project bike on ebay, did not know if parts were availble, bought books, did research
There is a company in uk that has used parts, makes new parts for Ariel, Triumph, bsa.
Years went by this bike appeared on ebay.

There were lots of changes through the years, same as CB750
1945 Telescopic forks
1949 Aluminum cylinders
1953 Four exhaust pipes, cylinder pairs
1954 SU carb (replace Solex)
1956 Headlight cowl, tool kit on left, big 4.6l oil tank
Video bike is newer then my bike, 53 to 55, four exhaust pipes, standard headlight.

I wish I knew! I had it in 1973-4 and it was already pretty scruffy. It was a beast to start but once running it was an absolute riot. Noisy too. I was still living at home and when coming home late I’d shut it down a few blocks from home and coast in. My Mom still knew what time I got in. She always said “That thing will wake the dead”! I traded it for a 1970 Triumph T100S.
