Well, New Zealand now officially has no active Covid-19 cases and we have gone 17 days without anyone testing positive.
The Government is about to lift all restrictions, other than keeping our borders closed - a good thing because we don't want any Covid filled Aussie's (aka "Terrys") coming over and stealing our women, food and SOHC bikes !
The economy is pretty sad, but we are on the mend !

Thats great mate, but just to clarify, when you say "Our Women", are we talking about the two legged kind, or those wooly girls you Kiwi's are rumoured to enjoy more? ;D
For the most part, the two legged kind but I couldn't guarantee that for some parts of the country !

We went to my granddaughters softball game last night. Here in central Illinois a lot of people aren't distancing or wearing masks. They don't believe it's that bad or are just have fatigue of their lives being on hold. It looked like any other game we've been to, maybe with a few less grandparents.

They don't believe it's that bad or are just have fatigue of their lives being on hold. It looked like any other game we've been to, maybe with a few less grandparents.

My 87 year old mother in law pretty much demanded that my wife take her shopping yesterday. All "Over 70's" have been in lockdown since March, and even my 91 year old Ma thinks they've been forgotten about as the restrictions have been eased, except for the oldies. Yesterday my wife asked me and I said, "As long as she accepts that it's on her if she gets CV, who cares?" so the wife gave in and took her shopping.

Of course at 87 she moves at the speed of a 2 legged tortoise, so created a traffic jam in every shop they went to, but what pissed my wife off the most was that the MIL would joke with anyone who'd listen, that "her daughter was letting her out of the house" like it was the wife's fault that she hadn't been allowed out earlier, not that it was against the fcuking law. by the time the wife got her home, she just wanted to strangle the old biatch. Of course, if she did get CV, the rest of the wife's family would blame the wife, not that they ever lend a hand to do any shopping for the MIL. It's just a "Lose/lose" situation, and that pisses me off........ (wrong thread) ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

People need to have in mind how this started and not blame wrong persons.

Make a huge stone with inscriptions on several languges about this, how it started so future people will know the truth when we all are gone.

Geez that sounds a bit dark Per, is it so bad in Sweden still? Over here, we've only had 102 deaths total, and only a few new cases, so I reckon by Christmas we'll be CV free. Of course, we'll need to keep our borders closed from the rest of the world until CV is wiped off the face of the earth, but that's OK with me, I don't have any international travel plans for the next couple of years, (well maybe to New Zealand to do a raid on their women....... ;D) I'd rather just stay home and ride my bikes. ;D

I work from home and do not see any problems.
I ride my K6 a lot, the last ride it ran really nice. Smoother than silk ;)
Reading news is not fun, to find out what happens worldwide. Aggressive huligans, another kind of decease.

Staycation this summer. Maybe Greece and all inclusive hotel if no virus around.
More important to travel to the sun wintertime. We look forward to return to  Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife as we visited  in January.

Sit on a crowded aircraft today, no thanks!

Staycation this summer.

We have no plans to travel anytime soon either.  Luckily we live in an area where there are great roads for riding and driving Classic Cars.  And a nice lake to take the boat out a couple times a month!

As far has my job their has been some changes. Before all this corona stuff started their was 5 of us in the parts dept. Over 2 months ago they layed off 2 guys because of lack of business, but we were told they would be brought back as soon as work picked up again. Well last week the big wigs told us they are not bringing them back and we will have to get by with the staff we got. We have at least 15 techs and 6 service writers so us 3 remaining parts guys are going to be slammed. The 2 that they let go was the crew that worked every Saturday also so now me and the other 2 guys are going to have to start rotating Saturdays again something I haven't done in 6 years or so >:( I'm hoping to retire in a few more years.

I'm sure that most people independent of where they live  want to see and do something else for a change on vacation.

That sucks Dwight, a member here opined in one of my threads that a lot of guys who were currently "working from home" would be let go eventually when their management realised how little work they were actually doing, but in your case, it's just a case of your "Big Wigs" trying to save some money while making your life harder. As far as retirement goes, at your age, if you can afford to retire, you should, you've got plenty of bikes to ride and projects to finish, so why not?

I'm lucky, I was thinking of retiring this year but decided that I couldn't afford to just yet, then CV came along and I started working from home shortly after my 60th birthday, and I don't look like going back to work anytime soon. I get paid ridiculous amounts of money for the job I do, so if I have to spend the rest of my working life working from home, I don't mind at all. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Arizona is currently have a spike in cases; 1500 new cases today, and 39 deaths today, when a few weeks ago it was more like 400-500 new cases per day. The governor claims the numbers are up due to more testing...

Yeah mate, I just checked the latest WHO (those lying commie loving rats!) COVID-19 map, and there are now 2 million confirmed cases in the US, that means 1 in 150 have it. Staying home and working on your bike projects is a good place to be right now. ;D

There is a lot that has been learned in these few months, and a lot to be learned.
There is lots of learning to be done by epidemiologists, governors, hospital administrators, statisticians, general public.
We haven't been in a grocery store in three months. I haven't had a haircut or shave in 3 months. I'm way behind on my motorcycle riding.
I live in the hottest county in a state that is cooling. Our county had 50+ new cases yesterday, but boy oh boy, isn't that good... because we have had a steady decline.

Alarm about the danger and root causes of hazardeous things is today too hot in a political aspect.
Lots of deaths due to the political bs game and not allowed to point finger at criminals, they can be offended as a group.

I need to win some $$$$$ on lottery.
I'm not that eager to work until 67 and not sure if my pension will be enough anyway. Too many never working people that share the funds too.
Work on my bikes is OK though :D
My wife is much younger so..... ;)

The economics will change in the long run. Today OK, what about 2023?

Today really nice summer day. I had to assembly the  new charcoal grill we bought today, no riding.

Way behind on riding ? It's one of the few safe things you can do, unless its not allowed. . You may as well ride. Plus it's fun..

Fuel price is still lower.
I have done almost 6000km on my blue K6 since end of March.

My brown K2 only a short 70km ride.

Mist rides only on the bike, refueling. Too few restaurant visits or cafes due to the plague. Bike drinks while riding :D

That's a great looking grill Per, I presume you'll be doing some smoking as well? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
