Wich handlebars are you planning to use?

Tnx. The handle bar is already there in the pics. It's a 78cm wide LSL/ABM bar, pretty standard 'superbike'style.
Routed the wires through the bar, so should get a pretty clean set-up.

Hi, thanks for the compliments.

Yes, the 2k is a rattle can as well. There is a button on the bottom that needs to be pressed to activate the can, and it's useable for only 48 hrs after that. I got them at www.nonpaints.com. Brand is spraymax.
It was my first time using 2K and I'm hooked.

What would you like to see specifically on the front end? I can make more pics on request.

Progress in the meantime:
- Brought the seat to the upholsterer.
- Waiting for the front wheel to be spoked.
- Brought the cylinder block to a machinist who was able (just!) to bore at 47mm

- Installed a mini Koso digital gauge.
- Cleaned and installed the chain and sprockets.

I bought it at a "local" dutch webshop, called onlymx.com. They discounted it to <90 euro's.
However, it's a product available world wide, you can google "KOSO DB EX-02". It's a super small dashboard at 120mm at the widest point, 30mm high and 25mm deep approx.
Only thing important to remember, there is no rev-counter on it. I deliberately made that choice, because rev-counters are notoriously hard to get functional on bikes that are this old (as they lack a reliable digital rev-signal, other than a sparkplugwire).

BTW, I tested the lights on the dash, neutral and oil pressure are already working.

BTW2: the aluminium bracket is self-made. And remember the fork and yokes are of a KTM.

Finally got the front wheel back, so was able to put her on her feet for the first time.
Pretty happy with stance and overall line.
Also managed to find a 400/4 brake and shift, and pegs. So I'll be able to keep the 400 headers.

Also finished the loom and the Koso dash is now working 100%. Just need to put the sensor in the fork somehow.

Yep. 4,50-18 in back / 4.00-18 in front
Not that huge really, only half inch larger than my 'standard' CB350f is running.
Be reminded, the front tyre is not clipped inside the wheel on these pics. Looks larger than it actually is.

No, certainly not. Maybe a small fender, but no brace. Have you ever seen a brace on a USD?
Be reminded this KTM fork doesn't come with a brace on the KTM either, just a plastic fender.

A fork brace is unnecessary with modern USD forks with more stout triple trees. The bigger limitation on handling performance will be the tires. In light of the modern front suspension and braking upgrade, more modern rubber would allow the bike to take advantage of that front end. To each his own, though. I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way - I'm just not understanding that choice.

That's fine, as you say, to each their own. For my other bike I made a different choice.
For this one, I made a deliberate choice for these classic tyres as it's for looks rather than handling. Let's be honest, how many of us ride a 45 y/o bike beyond the limits of these tyres?

Btw.. these shinko's are by far (!) not as bad of a tyre as the infamous firestones, often seen on other hipster projects

Death to Firestone tires! Glad you didn't go that route -- though I believe that people should do what they want with their projects.

As for as performance goes, It's not like I'm trying to get knee down on my 550, but I do try to give it some spirited rides. These are 40 year old bikes and they have limitations.

Some progress:
Head refurbished with newly done valve seats (used Chemico paste)
Electrics are done, and a H4 headlight lens installed.
Due to chrome not being in the best shape, I painted the ring in sand-effect grey. Quite fond of the result, I think it resembles the CB1000r a little, fitting my new-meets-old theme on this bike.

Got the seat back today. Love it.
So, 'just' the engine left to build and button up, and this bike should be ready for the road soon...
Just imagine the sexy 400/4 headers on it.. i think it's going to look quite cool when it's all together.

Looks pretty clean. Although you don't need a fork brace with the Upside-Down forks, you may think about a front fender/mudguard. I doubt you'll be riding it too much in the wet, but it will keep pebbles, dirt, etc. from flinging onto your motor, headers and you. Cliff Meyer and Cognitomoto make bolt-on aluminum fenders for the GSXR, that mesh well with a resto-mod.

It's a KTM fork. Not sure if a gsxr solution would fit.
I would definately look into a fender, but first I have to check clearance to the header. It's a bit tight...
I already have an idea how to make a fender, if it all works out.
