Topic: Should the starter turn with Kill Switch off? (CB350f)

Hey all,

So... on my CB500f when the kill switch is in the off position the starter does not turn when I press the start button

I have been rebuilding a CB350f for the last 2 years and tonight I finally got to the point where I connected the battery and tested all the electrics. 

I hit the start button with the kill switch in the off position and the starter motor turned.  Is that normal?

I can see in the wiring diagram that the kill switch cuts power to the coils so I assume it wont actually start but the fact that it turned-over concerns me.

My CB350F does the same.  It’s fine.

Yep, it will still crank, hence the reason some people smack their foreheads when they run the battery down and realize they had the switch to off.

Not sure about your 500, but my 750 and 350f act the same way.
