Custom in seat oil tank oil capacity
« on: August 09, 2020, 04:01:45 AM »
Hello Everyone.I am in the process of  getting a custom oil tank built into the tail portion of a custom seat of my cb750.I was told that the oil capacity will be about 2 liters.I am thinking about a small inline oil cooler as well.I understand I will have to change the oil more often. Is this going to be ok or should I be concerned about reliability? Thanks in advance for your input.

You might consider the "Sump-Thing" wet sump conversion.  It would give you more oil capacity and you wouldn't have to worry about a tank at all.

I would not be comfortable with that.  2 reasons...these bikes move a LOT of oil and your butt is gonna be sweatin' relentlessly
If it works good, it looks good...

For similar reasons, I'd also vote against a fuel tank with an oil reservoir (like the the Benji's tank).  I haven't heard much back from anyone who has installed the Sump Thing but the design looks good.
