Wheel Hub Retainers
« on: December 06, 2020, 06:29:27 PM »
Hi Everyone,
Looking for opinions on using a little blue Loctite on the front and rear wheel hub retainers on a CB750 instead of punching to lock retainers in. What do you think?

I personally wouldn't do that.  It wouldn't be as reliable as punches and would be harder to remove than drilling punches is.

I have used that.

I tightened the retainer and put just a little in each hole where earlier drilled. I used Loctite 222 which is weak.

Another rear hub nothing, copper paste only to let it move easier ;D
Threads had issues after the removal of old retainer since I punched rather hard in the beginning of the 80s with no thoughts about a remote future where I have to replace bearings again. Maybe parked for 20 years helped. Quality SKF bearings

That bearing is squeezed into it place when wheel is tightened.
