Thanks guys, well I'm glad that next years ride thread will be open to all bikes, and while I personally like longer rides, if folks prefer a minimum of 50 miles, that's fine by me too. My old bones aren't getting any newer, so like this year, there'll be times next year when I just can't cover 100 miles comfortably. I think there needs to be a minimum though, or else the thread will devolve into another "Lets see your bike out on the road" thread, which we already have, so if everyone's in agreement, 50 miles minimum.

I'd like to see pics of meals on the road too, unfortunately I have a very limited diet so won't be posting much, but I do like looking at pics of burgers, chicken, taco's, kebabs, steaks, whatever. I love food, I just can't eat much anymore. Anyway, I'm glad that the thread will continue, and that folks can "run what they brung" because there are guys here with other bikes that they love to ride, and some don't have running SOHC4's, as I didn't until very late in 2020.

As Kevin's said, it's not a competition, rather it's a personal incentive to get out of your chair and onto your bike. Riding bikes is good for your mental health, so the more you ride, the saner you are. What better way to improve your mental health than ride a bike, and eat something nice? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Possible to bring your own snack, thermos with you. Stop at a nice place and enjoy life and have a look at your bike.

Wonderful nature or bikini/nude beach can end up in good photos for all of us!

The rides I can enjoy now are yours posting your adventures from places where sun is shining a little bit hotter! ;D

A snow plow tractor woke me up this morning clearing the street outside.
Snow is falling constantly, since yesterday and will continue.

Ha ha, while the snow is falling on your side of the pond Per, it's getting warmer here, only around 80 here @ 6pm as I type this, but will get into the high 90's for the next 3 days, so I'll busy myself getting my Kawasaki Z1-B project back on the bench after an 18 month absence. Not too sure if I'll be entertaining you with any nudie beach pics, but I'll try to keep you entertained with a few different routes while you're locked in with that horrible cold white sh1t. ;D

Weather here in Southern Arizona has finally caught up with more typical winter like desert southwest temperatures and daily highs in low 60s for next couple weeks with rain through Saturday moving in tonight with low to mid 50s for highs while rain is around. People here just go crazy for rain.

In the Pacific NW area like Seattle they get a light drizzle like or light rain and people who work construction work right through it. Crews here in AZ often don't do home construction in light rain like that...
The rain does bring with it some spectacular color to sunrises and sunsets most days...but, we have gorgeous sunsets most days...

Yes, and I want to see the blue Soozook!

I have a memory from an early trip to rural WV. We encountered another motorcyclist and he rode along with us for a few miles. I think he was on an older black CB160. We stopped for a roadside chat and he was a decent guy, admiring my shiny K1 and my pals new gold CB500. He told us that his buddy had a MaZOOski.
He went on his way and we continued on, near War WV? I broke a sweat pitching my 750 back and forth on that twisted mountain road, and never left 1st gear for a long time. After a while I was wishing I was off the 750 and on the CB160 or the MaZOOski.

Ha ha, I love my MaZOOski's too Kevin! It's funny, I had fond memories of my mate Pete's Suzuki T500 so I thought he'd be excited when I sent him a vid of mine up and running, only to find out that he didn't share the same fond memories. He was also convinced that his gearbox sh1t itself because the centre crank seal was buggared, and the oil that was blown out the exhausts had depleted the gearbox, hence 4th and 5th gear shearing. I tried to tell him about the fault that all T500's had up to 1973 when Suzuki re-cast the bottom crankcase so that the gearbox oil level rose to provide oil to the top gears, plus if any seal is gonna go first it'll be the two outer ones, but he wasn't having any of it, even the Suzuki bulletins I sent him, in his mind he'd solved the issue 40 years ago, and was comfortable that all T500's were crap. Oh well.

I remember riding to Bathurst for the (now long-dead) Easter TT in 1983 (with Pete again, me on my K1 and him on his Moto Guzzi T3 850) and being murdered in fast sweepers by a guy on a Bultaco Metralla, a bike that I'd love to have now. It was a 250cc single cylinder two stroke road bike, and we couldn't get near him in the corners. We saw the Metralla again again on top of the Mountain (Mount Panorama, the Bathurst race track) and I was amazed that a really basic 250 could make a 750 and an 850 look slow.

Anyway, all going well the two MaZOOki's (the T350 and T500) will see some rides in the new year, I'm glad that I've re-started the Z1-B project too, I can't even really remember why I stopped after I'd built the engine and bought thousands of bucks worth of parts that (hopefully) are still safe and well in their tubs in one of my carports. ;D

Terry, you got your hands full of CB750 builds if I remember correctly. F, K0, K2's....
Maybe something missing in the Kawasaki builds?

I guess that working Z1-900 will become very expensive when lots of bikers want to be part of the 50 years celebration.

It is not wrong to go there on a CB750 SOHC K0-K1, a reason why Z1-900 was born!! ;D

Thanks Per, I'm sure there will be other bikes at the Z1 celebrations, but I don't want to make excuses this early, I better just put mine together and ride it, it should be a wicked bike with the hotrod 1100cc engine, so should be scary fun.

Back to the future "22 Rides in 2022" thread, is that what we're gonna call it? It was Frank's idea, so should we incorporate Frank's name in the title? If so, any suggestions for the title? "Frank's 22 rides in 2022"? Or something catchier? Suggestions?

Let me know guys, while I won't be riding for a couple of days (stinking hot weather) I'll be doing a 200 miler on Monday and 200 back on Tuesday to visit my old Ma, but there might be other guys here who want to kick off the new year with a ride on January the 1st, so I'd like to have the thread up and running as soon as the clock strikes 12. ;D

That's a great idea Terry! Include Frank. ;)
Some inspirations. People who knew him in person can have better ideas.

"A Frank ride"
"Frankly ride"
"Frank'n ride"
"Ride for/with Frank"
"A weldless ride"

"Franks memorial ride" might be too serious and remind us about the greif.

Something positive and happy.

Morning from Oz all, and Happy New Year! OK, I think I'm just gonna go with "Frank's 22 rides in 2022" unless there are any screaming objections, and I can change the title if I have to. I'll post a link shortly. ;D

Last call?  Challenge accepted!

Ride 23 - December 31 - 105 miles

Beeeautiful day! Low 70's, light clouds, light breeze, no traffic (except when I stopped to take the pic).

Saw the "last call" post and couldn't resist. I had just finished mowing the back yard (after having to replace a broken spindle on the riding mower) and decided to hit the road. It couldn't have gone better. Had a couple of high-speed rabbits that led the way on some of the open roads; even had this amazing 1950's Ford pickup lead me for about 5 miles at 100mph! Great day. Awesome way to finish the year.

Might try again tomorrow on the 550 to start the new year. Cold weather is supposed to be coming on Sunday.

Cheers!

Here is Terry in Australia gathering in his first of his back-to-back First In Awards with 21 rides in 2021.
And this first in award is long overdue.

Sorry no individual awards for completion of 21 in 2021 but we are fortunate to have them available in 2023, and through October seven riders have eclipsed 23 rides in 2023, and there’s is still two months and two weeks left in 2023.
