‘77 CB550 quick project

Came across this ‘77 CB550 online so I went and picked it up today. Runs but needs a good carb cleaning. Cosmetically the bike is ok, needs a little TLC. The plan is to clean it up good and maybe switch some things up on it at the lowest cost possible. I will post some updates as I go!

Snowed in these last couple of days so perfect time to get some work done on the bike.

Got her running after cleaning the carbs thoroughly. Put on a new delkevic exhaust which sounds mean. Did a couple cuts on the frame to fit my new seat, then shortened up the rear fender and reinstalled that.

Took the front apart and cleaned and painted a couple things, definitely gonna go back and clean it up more once it gets a bit warmer out. Installed some clip-on handlebars, replaced headlight with a stock one, added indicator lights, and made a bracket for the speedometer. Next, to clean the engine and frame up.

Everybody's ergonomics are their own, but I might suggest moving your clip-on mars out an inch or more (you appear to have about 2 inches of bar above the clamps and that extra width will make the bike easier to steer.  Also, since you installed clip-ons, I would suggest installing rearsets.  Otherwise your lower half is in an upright position and your torso is having to make the difference to the bars.  Rearsets will allow your entire body to position at an angle so your top half isn't bent over more than it needs to be.

Thanks for the advice! I have yet to ride it and adjust it to my comfort and liking. I just threw everything on today but I will definitely put that into consideration.
