Quality of side cover badges 750k0
« on: August 02, 2022, 02:02:53 PM »
I am looking at all these reproduction badges from various suppliers on line and I’m seeing prices range from 35 bucks for the set with clips included to upwards of $250 and pretty much everywhere in between.

Anyone got experience with reproduction badges? Who makes a good one? I know Yamiya is probably an obvious answer. Anyone get them from somewhere else and have em be correct??

I’m sure it’s the little details that separate them in terms of price. Pics on line all pretty much look the same, just prices vary.

Anyone??

Yamiya is reliable to the max.
David Silver would also be good.

Some years back I got a set from CMS. They were rubbish!

I asked them to change them, but as I'd had them quite a while, they refused.

I got a set of cheapies that looked pretty good except there are dents where the mounting pins are attached. I'm not sure from where at this point, maybe 4-1 or Z1 parts.

Zoom in on the black ones, you can see the dents in the reflection I'm referring to. Not bad all in all for the price.

Thank you all for the input!!

Really appreciated!

I got a $50 dollar gift card to cb750suply

They sell some cheap ones. I figure they are free and They don’t have anything else there I could use.

I’ll see what they send me.

If they are junk they can hold me over until I get some from Yamiya.

I haven't had anyone remark about my cheap emblems so far. Maybe they're being polite.

I got side cover and tank badges from Yamiya for my new sunflake orange paint and they look excellent. I just didn't want to take a chance on having subpar badges on a new paint job. I knew the quality I would get from Yamiya.

Thanks for that pic magpie - they look better in your photo than the stock photo.

The ones listed on cb750supply have the same stock photo as vintagecb750 so I can only assume they will be the same ones.

I think the gold ones don’t have as high gloss of a finish as the black ones so those dimples don’t show.

I need gold ones so we’ll see what shows up.

Here is what showed up.

They advertise they come with clips - they do not. Easy enough to get at the hardware store, but still…

They look good from a foot away.

Really close you can see some tooling/ or brush marks or something.

If my bike was original, I’d go with higher quality ones from Yamiya.

These will be just fine for my bike. Wouldn’t ever see the defects unless down on your knees hunting for it at the right angle.

I’ve noticed this also to be the case with most aftermarket seats. No one has “Honda” on the back. It’s an easy fix but it seem there may be trouble with the law making repop parts with logos.

I bought some k1 side cover emblems from cb750supply.  They were far below what I expected.  I sent them back.  These K0 badges look good though.
