Topic: Tire Load Index Rating

So it's now around the time I should start to look for tires for my bike. 77 K7, shaved about 25 lbs off total. Stock dry weight states 508 lbs. With me and gas and oil, around 730 lbs. Load Index rating puts me needing 69 or 70. I've found it's difficult to find an excellent tire with my needed load index, and even more difficult to find both tire sizes I need made from the same company (though I don't mind if they're different). Am I able to go any lower or am I asking for trouble?

How much weight to carry on a CB750 has been discussed before so this thread may be helpful:

From my own experience riding a CB750 2-up thousands of miles weight on a CB750 is a non-issue. For those trips I used Bridgestone BT-45 tires though would recommend Avon Roadriders also.

That's a good read, thank you.

Now this may sound dumb, but the way I understood the article, the weight distribution isn't always equal.50/50 to each tire. With that being said, would I be safe in assuming I can put a 69 or 70 Load Index Rated tire in the rear and be okay with putting a 66 I the front?

I put a 57 on the front - absolutely fine 2-up as mentioned.
