made in usa cams
« on: May 05, 2023, 07:05:44 AM »
Someone on facebook in Honda cb750 motorcycles 69-78 has pics of a cam with lots of casting numbers on it but isn't stamped. The casting numbers include "made in usa" The group thinks it's an Andrews, any ideas since I have one also?
I plan to measure it later this morning.

Big Jay said the EP stands for engine power, they cast cams for many grinders. It's a shame no one stamped their ID on the blank when they ground it.

Most after market cams seems to be stamped Made in USA.

DP295, 315, CX7, Action Fours SS1, KHD, RC295 grind, "RC295" lightly engraved under washer on cyl1 side.
I think all of them has K134 marking too.

Except for my hard welded Megacycle cams that are made in USA on Honda Stock cams ;)
Megacycle 125-75 billet has marking CMC.
No Made in USA what I remember and can see on photos. It is in my K6 now.

Don, if it is an Andrews cam, I might be able to help as I know a Cary Andrew who is big into CB750s.
At this point in time, I'm not sure if it's the same person but I'll get back to you as soon as I find out for sure.

Cam can be a custom order direct fom Web cam?
Look on left side where washer sit. It might be vague markings as the bearing markings on a crank shaft.

Well, I went through the box of cams and it's not in there, now I'm wondering which engine I stuffed it in. Over winter I decided to assemble most of the parts off of the shelf into as complete engines as possible. If not ready to run, at least all parts in one pile.
