Or are you asking about the bearing retainer in the center of the drive hub??
As to the hub, it is sticking to the rubber dampers. Spray in some silicone to help lube the rubber to aluminum posts.
I usually leave the sprocket on to use as a lever point.

The retainer. I am having zero luck with it. It's turned little with a punch and hammer now it won't move.

I'm guessing by the looks of the picture you didn't drill out the staking punches before turning it? 🤔

100% guaranteed they were not. And once you do drill them out, you may likely need some heat to release that retainer from the threads.

I ended up getting it. It was the reverse thread part that was getting me. Lol
Maybe a lack of sleep as well but mostly reverse thread.

I’ve also found that since I bought the right tool, I haven’t messed any up, and been able to reuse them. I bought it on EBay (came from England!. 4 pins, 3/8” drive. I mount it up in my rechargeable impact gun (small), stand over the wheel (so I can push down annd keep it engaged 100%) and give it a few short blasts (after drilling). Spin right out.

If you're going to do a bunch of these a pin spanner is also a good investment.
Something like this:

Sorry…. Missed the question. I believe that is where I bought a very nice set. I’ll pull them out tomorrow and add a few pics

Reverse thread, I'll have to make a note of that.
I guess Honda Engineers couldn't trust staking the threads  to keep the retainer in place?

Is this only so on 500/550 or other models too?

I don't remember a 750 being left hand threads, but I'm pretty old and drank a few beers since the last one I took apart.

My K3 750 was not reverse thread as I recall, it was pretty tough to remove and install in spite of the threads looking fine.
