Got a rear wheel, chain and guard up and mounted with new brakes in the hub. Next on the paint schedule is to finish out the frame paint and detail the motor. I am going to get the bike up on blocks shortly to pull the front end also. I am having no luck with my hand driver, heat, and penetrating oil in freeing up the spigot screws. I have only gotten the one on jug four free so far and one of the screws had to be cold chiseled into submission. With everything out of the way I should be able to get a full swing on the driver, if that doesn't work, I am living with the old gaskets. Paint is on order in the color of Candy Blaze Orange Metallic, not an exact match to a true Honda color, but looked damn good on the swatch. I have also found a set of stripes off of FB Marketplace from a seller who had them left over from his project, I can't believe what the vendors are asking for a set this day and time. The old stripes have been heat gunned off the tank, which is in really good shape, a little surface rust but I am going to coat it with Caswell just to be sure. It is the external tube single feed style petcock which is missing so I am shopping around for a replacement, they seem to much harder to find than the internal two screw double feed model. Upon pulling the gauges I found the speedometer works and the tac is frozen, just the opposite of what I usually find on these things. Yesterday when mounting the rear wheel I discovered the lower brake stay bolt was missing so off to the shed to pull one from the parts bike, which is really loosing a lot of weight. I cleaned up the replacement on the wire wheel and went to do several other little odds and ends and when I came back to bolt everything up, the bolt had walked off. I turned the garage upside down and still can't find the damn thing which I find truly annoying. They say when you can still recognize your own senility you are still ok. I am waiting for the neighbors to start talking any day now, "Looks like Mr. Carter forgot his pants again."
